The key phrase used is "retrospect", hindsight is a valuable thing for the historian, however in reality it isn't all that useful. To address the problems presented one must truly look past hindsight, not what they "could have thought" but what they did actually think/access the mindset of the...

    When Travel was Romantic

I'd tend to agree. Old train stations are particularly romantic places as well!

Not quite sure how he came to the conclusion, the Free French element of No4 Commando lost a fair few on 6th June (can't remember the exact figure), when coupled with the losses from 2eme RCP (4th SAS - French Battalion) the figures are well over 19 already. Those 2 units are by no means the...

Does anyone wear their hats tipped back?

I couldn't have said it better myself. The way I wear my hat often reflects my mood, more often than not though it's on a slightly jaunty angle. A smidgen to one side and pushed back a little.

Why do I hate the 1340s so much?

Blood Libels and witchcraft. Bad times... lol

I was just about to say... Fantastic look as always, but that jacket is something else! Simply gorgeous, not obnoxious like some similar two-tones!

    waistcoat questions

Ditto on one of my 1930's British 3 piece suits. The cut is simply wrong to leave the bottom waistcoat button unbuttoned.

Vintage styled MTM monogrammed shirts - £30/$40

I've had a couple of made to measure shirts from M&S and was also quite impressed with them. I always buy my shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt and in this case, the M&S shirts are just as good...at half the price. No photos I'm afraid at the moment.

    What are you wearing today??

Aha thank you :D Unfortunately it's a modern one, off a US eBay shop somewhere. The actual name escapes me at the moment. Really quite nicely made and 100% wool which makes a pleasant change haha.

    What are you wearing today??

It actually came from the esteemed Baron Kurtz off here. A 1930's American made number if I remember correctly.

    wwII Crusher hat restoration?

http://www.diamondcapco.com/ I really can't recommend them enough. The owner is a pleasure to deal with and knows his stuff. The crusher I bought (one of the original $300 ones) really is awe inspiringly excellent, in comparison to my original its spot on.
