Questions from a hat newbie
I've used folded up tissue paper to stuff the sweatband on one of my hats. Worked for me! As for treating the hat, I sometimes use Scotchgard. Just don't go crazy with it as it does kinda stiffen the hat a bit... Also, when it comes time for a reblock, too much of the stuff can make it... -

I actually have a brand new black Stetson Temple that I reblocked and rebashed as I wasn't too fond of how it initially looked on me. Dunked the hat in a pail of water and I can tell you that the color did not bleed as some have said it might. ...And I held it in the water until it... -

You just throw 'em out? Heck I'd be happy if you threw 'em out my way. I've been wanting to try and refurbish beat-up hats, but living in a country with no fur felt hats makes that task next to impossible to practice. -

The liner was glued on. I just carefully ripped it out. When I removed the liner I saw the inside of the crown wasn't pounced at all. I put the liner back in. I just tucked it in the sweatband and that's it! -

Without further ado... Here's the newly "semi-reblocked" Temple... Here it is next to my Akubra FedIV Deluxe. In this pic the ribbon width is obvious. The Temple has a wider ribbon compared to my FedIV. This was the best bash I could do for it (at the moment) that didn't show that... -

I just got my Stetson Temple in black. Didn't realize how tapered the crown would be. It's nice and all, but the crown does not suit me I think. I'm planning to reblock it to get some more crown height... Will probably lose some brim, though. Has anybody had success reblocking this...
