    Sometimes you have to laugh...

At least they didn't try to stuff it into a COM10 envelope! Unfortunately some people are "shipping challenged..." [huh]

    Top Quality Biltmore

The free shipping was thru 11/26 so I assume you ordered yesterday, but was also probably only for the US. Probably an oversight on their web code that it didn't cancel out the free shipping for outside of the US. I'm guessing they may get a special rate with UPS in the US but not across the...

Message to Hat Manufacturers re: Inconsistent Sizing

I completely agree with those assessments that there are two many variables such as human head size and shape variability, material characteristics, environmental (humidity, temperature, etc) and numerous other potential factors that guaranteeing sizing and proper fit in a mass produced product...

Message to Hat Manufacturers re: Inconsistent Sizing

I completely agree as I was thinking the same thing when I went to the companies web site and saw how many different industrial businesses they are in. I have worked for major electronics, industrial and tech companies and it was also common for different divisions to leverage the work from...

Message to Hat Manufacturers re: Inconsistent Sizing

Figures, leave it to a German hat company to go to the trouble and expense of doing that! Germans are known for being quality fanatics! :eusa_clap Are there any others? Any US? I doubt it. So are Mayser's more consistent with respect to quality or sizing? Sorry, but I have never seen...

    is the hat too small?

As long as you like how the hat looks on you and it doesn't hurt your head to get it to where you want it or go past your ears then that's all that matters--that is to say, with the exception of those two things as long as you like the look of it and are happy then it is neither too small or too...

Message to Hat Manufacturers re: Inconsistent Sizing

Do any clothing manufactures attempt to conform to or meet ISO 9001 standards---none that I know of. They probably figure the customer will try the item out at the place of purchase to confirm proper fit and unless retailers started complaining because they couldn't sell inventory because of...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

You did quite well Frank. :eusa_clap The guy who is able to wear the smaller size hats and clothing generally has it made when it comes to ebay as the competition isn't so fierce. The rest of us that wear the larger sizes typically face high price bid wars. :( That homburg in a larger size...

Ok. I guess she gets the last laugh as she sold a similar hat on the 17th for $99...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Really---especially for that price! [huh] Gee maybe I can start a side business taking junker westerns and selling them as "authentically aged!" Got plenty of them and can always find more for such use.... For giggles I'll have to add that to my watch list!

    High-priced felt

I have one that is very nice. To me it looks like I just went in a time machine back to the 50's and just got it--its that clean and pristine. If I had another hat that was a non-Whippet that was as nice and as clean I'd for sure sell it. If I manage to find such a hat I'm sure I will unload...

    Top Quality Biltmore

In trying to track down open crown canada hats to buy and I find vendors wanting a lot of money. I thought these hats retailed for under $200?!?!? One told me they had one for $250... Too high of a retail markup or knowing these are discontinued so cashing in? Hats Plus listed their regular...

    Top Quality Biltmore

I've also have several vendors express to me their dissatisfaction with the new Garland hats with some saying they won't carry Biltmore anymore unless they get their quality back. One things for sure, if they don't get it together I don't expect the brand will last. I just wish I had bought...

    High-priced felt

I concur. I think the vast majority are also probably making the foolish calculation that surely no one else will bid crazy high so they will end up at most paying just a slightly high price or a few dollars over that. Once two people use that logic "kaboom" goes the price into the ultra-high...

    Top Quality Biltmore

A hat retailer contacted Biltmore for me yesterday and told me they could get a custom order hat (single hat) from the Milano Garland, TX plant but it would be ~$258 plus $20 "special fee" plus more for shipping! Of course I said no thanks. I can't imagine the quality of materials and assembly...

Ask a question, get an answer

Yes, the penny will work just fine which is what I meant about following the directions. I thought by your earlier statement you were unsure about its accuracy. Cheers! ;)

Ask a question, get an answer

I have not tried it but as long as the driver and application are setup correctly when printing it will probably work just fine. Even cheaper printers these days probably have good enough registration (printer calibration and accuracy) that it will be accurate enough. PDF is a sophisticated...

I have been searching and searching for an ID

If the bag is not air tight with no holes and tied very tightly shut (such that it holds air like a balloon) those moths will flatten their bodies and crawl right in! They are evil! :eeek: If it is an air tight bag then conceivably they could be just going though their lifecycles breeding...
