Thanks for the kind comments, and Hurricane, that stove in the truck sounds like a keen idea!
I've heard that it was mocking a Navy official who was responsible for banning alcohol. Though I've also read that that story is false, and it falls the theory that it was the average man's drink...
During my sons afternoon nap I watched the final episode of Agent Carter. I can concede that the second season was lacking, certainly when compared with the first season. That said I would rather ABC had not cancelled the show.
The way our memory works fascinates me. There are foods, songs, books, what have you that can teleport me back to a moment in my life as if it happened only yesterday. Some pleasant, others not so much. And then, on the other hand, the person I was and the world I lived in just some 6 years...
Two of my dearest friends are bringing Halloweentown for my wife and I to watch this weekend. I've never seen it before, though I must admit to enjoying Hocus Pocus. It's a yearly watch for us! My wife and I have been working our way through some great, and some terrible horror (Terror...
Our feature last night was 1963s The Haunting, one of my wife's favorite horror films, and one I'd never seen before. It was an enjoyable watch, and I figure a film we may add to our Halloween Horror rotation.
The Fog is one of my favorites. Though really, so much of Carpenter's work is excellent. Carpenter really has a talent for establishing wonderfully eerie atmosphere in his films!
My wife had the day off today (partially to get some online certification done) and so this afternoon over lunch...

My wife has become something of a Cary Grant fan of late, and has been wanting to watch more Hitchcock as well. As such we recently watch To Catch a Thief and North By Northwest.
This evening The Wolfman and Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman was on the screen.
Keen hatband and boots there! It is indeed a fine thing to see such work continued, or at least preserved. I'm met a few people who worked braiding horse hair long ago. It's something I'm keen to learn myself.
I've found that my first read through I as fast as I can devour the words. I just have to know what happens next. Following that I read at a slower pace, enjoying the story more, savoring the experience, and certainly gaining more from it. Much to my dismay I think an unsettling number of...
Anyone looking for a nice creepy scifi, one of the films that gets you thinking, Coherence is a good one. I'm not normally one for the shaky camera work that became popular with movies like Blair Witch Project, however, this film is well done. And, I found it to be a fine example of working...
