Candles are my main source of scent, as they're the easiest to turn on and off. I enjoyed some of the reed diffusers I've received as gifts (a few had obnoxious scents), but it's messy to remove the sticks and cap the bottle, if you don't want the scent all the time.
For candles, all you...
Yesterday I went to Target for kitchen bin liners, and came away with kitchen bin liners. Oh, and the $20 Saida t-straps, because they were so adorable and comfy. I'm still groovin' on that little shopping high. ;)
I love "The Long, Long Trailer"; it's the kind of movie I have to watch any time I come across it. Then I end up with that goofy "Ragu of Beef" song in my head!
Last night I watched "Mr. Sardonicus" and "Strait-Jacket" on TCM. William Castle is always good for a campy, vampy time.
One of the finest uses of khaki in the great outdoors is Miss Jane in her birding uniform. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the image to share, though it's clear as day in my head. ;)
No activity here for a while; I hope we'll get to see some costume photos in a couple weeks.
Meanwhile, the hub and I have been asked to participate with the Arts Council's float in the upcoming "Ghouls Gone Wild" parade, instigated by the Flaming Lips. It's always a great time, though I...
If not for pen palling, I wouldn't have my husband of 20 years! He was one of several throughout UK and Europe, and when I crossed the ocean on a one-way, stand-by ticket, I planned to wander round and meet them all. Since he was the one in London, that's where I began. Of course, with his...
It's not a fedora, but it's most certainly a hat. Me in my very old, tattered, Disney pop-up topper, and my pal Stephen in something he got from Hats in the Belfry, in D.C. This is tonight's opening reception for "Out of Sight", the art exhibit geared toward the visually impaired.
When I think of what happened to poor, gorgeous Isabella Rossellini, I'm happy that Ms. Collins has managed to get herself a gig with a cosmetics company.
edited to add: Of course, if the majority of her 'look' has been achieved via surgical techniques rather than topically applied concoctions...
Oh Foofoogal, me too. The Liz thing, I mean.
My hair is a growing out pixie/boycut kind of thing, so there's not much I can do with the layers just now (not saying there's nothing that CAN be done with them, only that I'm a hapless hairdresser ;)). But I love the way Liz had her hair in...
Quite true, Miss Neecerie, because let's face it, you can't please everyone (finish the song in your head if you feel the urge). Joan can go seemingly over-the-top with her efforts and get criticized for it; she could slouch around in comfy, casual clothes & take minimal effort with her...
The Skirvin Hotel, closed in the late 80s and left to crumble, even threatened with demolition at least once. Restored by the city and now operating as the Skirvin Hilton. I can't say I admire all of their modern deco-ish touches (some look too cheap and trendy to my eye), but the architecture...
