I've got a house labeled ELC B3, I'm a 42 and according to the website, that's what I bought. It's a great fit, looks good over light clothing and even looks and feels good over my A2. If I was going to wear heavy clothing under it, I Might go 44 next time, too big is Always preferable to too...
I have a SD leather B3, it's 17 years old and seen lots of abuse-still a beautiful jacket with no signs of letting up. That said, their web sight pic is the same as 17 years ago when I was on aol v2.0. I hate buying substantial items without feeling the quality in my hands!
Wanted a replica B3 all my life, had a few copies with hand warmers (my San Diego leathers is Very nice) but had the urge for an Eastman and even contacted Thurston Bros. For an Aero, Was just about to pull the trigger when it happened...a seal brown/seal brown size 42 Eastman showed up on eBay...
Ok, I'm saving up to buy an Aero Leather B3. I've searched the internet, asked Aero's customer service but still have no clue what its going to cost to get the thing here, It may be a deal breaker. Have any of yall purchased a new jacket from them and how much were the fees?
Thanks and sorry if...
Yes very noticeable. My wings jacket has some very thin leather in areas (elbow/arms) and some thick (shoulder area). But it looks nice! Also not big on the nylon/ acetate liner. I should have had it changed to cotton.
Mine is an orange tag. Size 42. Other than needing a 44 it's a great less expensive jacket. One thing I don't like is the sleeve hole as spoken of by others, it's slightly restrictive and the whole jacket comes up with the arms. Nice thick goatskin, decent zipper and cuffing. Hope this helps!
I needed a "Dressy" Leather Jacket due to my position. I needed black, I couldn't wear any shade of brown (although the dark seal from some comes close). I needed it fast so I purchased a black goatskin entry level modern A2 from them. Service was great, jacket arrived just in time. Nice, well...
Your new Jacket looks great! I've had a B3 San Diego Leather Repo jacket for 16 years or so. I live in the southwest, Arizona, Texas and did some work in So Cal (NAS North Island). I have worn that jacket in various weather and temperatures, From -20 and snow to around +50 and rain. Its an ALL...
The B1 came out a year or so before the B2. Only hats to officially be called a flight cap. After all this my wife got me an ELC B2 for Christmas and I wear all three all the time.
Thanks, the pattern came from looking at pictures and making paper patterns for the B1 then once I knew it could be done, made the sheepskin. The material was leftover from a few years ago-Not vintage! The sheepskin was left over from upholstering aircraft seats, man what a pain shearing it down...
I've got a mix of both. I DO love the aroma of a brand new leather jacket but hate the price. When buying used, I look for as new as possible, the A2 I just bought was 1/2 the price of new and honestly, they guy might have worn it a few times.
Thank you All. I am very proud to own a piece of history.
I was only wearing a t shirt so it was a little loose and yes I normally have a collar on to avoid oils getting on the leather and it fits like a glove.
I almost hate to wear it!
