Put in my deposit with Art today just to begin the process. My mind is already reeling with the possibilities. I have 4 different hat's rolling around up there already. Wonder which will manifest itself first. (Probably only two of them in the next 6 months!)
Odd Question
If i were to lose 15-20 lbs, would my hat size get smaller?
(im thinking of getting back on the exercise, and simultaneously discussing new hats...)
Daizawaguy, any chance you can point me to more info on how to do that awesome photo technique? Is it 'in camera', a photoshop filter, or some serious by-hand magic? If its a filter, im practically ready to buy!
Thanks!
Quite an Improvement! Then again I am biased against it's original luck as I used to work at Busch Gardens in High School, and that BEFORE shot looks like the "Das Burgermeister"s hat. ZIGGA ZAGGA ZIGGA ZAGGA HOY HOY HOY!
:)
I noticed i really like the 'bash/crease' (Did Bash become a bad word here recently?) on SpeedRcrX's hat.
Doe's Mr. Fawcett do the creasing/styling, or does the customer do it? Or are both options available?
Had it been a vintage whippet i would not have touched it.
As for the brim binding. I have the same question. My answer is two-fold: 1. It is now a hat i will WEAR. and 2. I may yet have binding put back onto it once I have established myself as a customer with Art Fawcett and ordered a hat or...
I won't burden everyone with yet another quoted copy of the photos, but let me just say that is one fantastic hat and it looks great on you! Very nice!!!
Good eye! That is an Epiphone "Dot" - ES-335 Clone. Pickups are epiphone stock.
There's also my daughter's Squire Hello Kitty in Pink over by the door. it's harder to see. lol
Modern (2009/10) Stetson Whippet, with Binding Trimmed off.. After a lot of soul searching, the Crown on this hat was just too LOW for that wide of a brim.. Now its perfect and has gone from 'i feel odd wearing this' to 'i love this hat'
Heres a Question I wonder if anyone can answer...
Can my two pet rabbits tell my hats are rabbit felt?
Going to join the Art Farcett Club soon I think. Pretty sure the Bunnies dont care about beavers.
What I find fascinating is that dressing well is so much of a LOST 'art'.. I get 'I love your hat' compliments all the time and I've only been wearing them for a few months.
I'm trying to upgrade my entire wardrobe, taking a lot of tips from these boards, and one great thing is that though...
You may be right. I'd be willing to do some sanding. I do a bit of scale modelling anyhow so i have the supplies (and patience) And getting the ribbon down.. well i know some ladies who are much better at sewing than i am who could help.
I was actually thinking of 'patching the holes by...
Dobbs Twenty. 50's?
Fella wearing it is in worse shape.
Incidentally his is a size 7. If anyone has one they are looking to get rid of in a 7 1/4 I'd be very very interested.
I was JUST NOW looking at the Lowe's website for naphtha, and denatured alcohol was in the side column of 'related items' so Im guessing its easily available at any of those big home improvement stores.
You look like Sam Rockwell, but thinner, and with nicer hat's Those hats just seem like a natural extention of your face. Wish i could figure out the right hat to make that work for me. Can't change my face. :)'
Dobbs Dined-ON
Finally took some pictures of the Moth-Buffet formerly known as a Dobbs 20...
Here they are on flickr. Don't want to put 15 photos in this post:

Heres a teaser tho:
YUM YUM Say the Moths!
This sounds like a good experiment to do with the old motheaten Dobbs 20 i got the other day, it is gonna be my 'experiment hat.' Unless someone who wear's a size 7 needs a hole-ridden dobbs 20 to wear for a clown outfit. :)'
However, the hat I'm concerned with now has no stains or...
