I wore my lined Akubra Leisuretime in Egypt this spring and I was fine. I saw a couple of guys with "panama" straws on their heads in the baking hot Valley of the Kings and their hats looked like dishrags. I felt compleatly comfortable the whole trip and all that stained my Akubra was limestone...
Thanks feltfan! This is a pretty old thread but I did contact Pecard back then and got confirmation from them that their "Antique" and "Classic" products are the same. Why they confuse matters by doing this I still don't know.
As far as i know, Pecard's products are still not avaliable here...
Amazing transformation and a very good job, sir. After reading half-through I was sure the ending was going to be a tragedy... but it wasn't! Looks like hats are more resilient then we sometimes tend to give them credit for.
Thanks for bringing another one back to life Paddy. :eusa_clap

I live in a part of the world where there's not possible to grow much fresh fruit (we get sour apples and that's it), so I have to give my vote to to the perfect berry instead. :)
Has someone here tried the 'Artic rasberry'? Jeez, my mouth water just thinking about it! The Latin name is...
Go for it, player676! :)
[slightly off-topic]
Can someone explain to me why hats are supposed to look better on a tall person then a shorter one? I would have thought it was the other way around... somewhat like high heels on a tall lady? [huh] And where do "rules" like that come from...
Dave: The ribbon and bow are separate pieces but the bow was threaded upon the ribbon before I stiched the ribbon together. Then I slid the bow in position and tacked everything in place. I'm not sure that's the "correct" way of doing it, but it worked for me.

Don't worry citRon, the Regency Fawn Leisure isn't green at all there's just something weird with my photos. I'm sure you'll be very happy when yours arrive... and I for one am really intreagued about what you are going to do with your ribbon. :)

Thanks RBH!
Well, I'm not sure I took that big of a chance really. I wouldn't wear a hat I didn't like the look of and the rest is just a matter of time, material and a little money. And I LOVE tinkering with things like that.
Cheers

Thanks everyone! The Leisure-time is a wonderful hat but the hatband provided just wasn't me. I tried a couple of ideas, inspired by some of the beautiful customizations (is that a word?) seen here on the Fedora Lounge, before I decided upon a rather wide ribbon in two colors with a bow that had...
OK, ok, ok! IT IS GREEN! :D
I'll try some daylight shots tomorrow and hopefully you all see the the same gold/brown ribbon as I do.
Thank you Tom! If you saw the photo "studio" I have, you'd laugh. lol But I'm glad you like my photos and the green-ribboned hat. :)
