Photos, ladies! I'd love to see that suit and architectural hat brought to life. By the way, they rather go together, don't they? I can't decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing that we (mostly) live too far from each other to share wardrobes.
Must be a dangerous temptation to visit the joint in the flesh! It's hard enough to exercise self-control with push-of-a-button online shopping... ;)
Yep, that's the one I got. I don't think I'd ever obsess to the point of 13 inches (yikes!), expecting to be delightfully delighted if the day...
Ooh SugarKitten, now that's a hat and jacket I'd wear in a heartbeat! Yummy! Either you have a figure that would make a corset almost a wasted investment, or that jacket is impeccably tailored. (Or most likely, both. ;) )
I've been wearing a Rago 21 cincher off and on for a while, and...
No expertise on dates here doll, sorry. But it's a sweet hat, for sure. I've a collection of assorted 30s - 50s hats, including a couple similar, I just don't have the right hair to wear them. :( Or maybe it's the panache I'm lacking.
Hahaha, no, the skirt is just something from my closet. I was wearing ratty old, rather high-waisted gardening trousers when the postman delivered, and of course I couldn't wait to start playing with my new toy. Off come the trousers and on goes the first skirt that will work for a demo photo...
I'm happy with a set of 4" and a set of 3". The longest ones are best for getting a nice wide wave up top, and the shorter ones are handy down lower, when your ear starts getting in the way.
Let's see what other wavers have to say.
Clearly, there's no no spender bender for me, but at least this boned corset was on sale. And I had a coupon code. ;) Let's hope I don't break it while learning how to wear it...
That's weird. Of course, I just went to the store and got them. Funny how they're not on the site. If worse comes to worse, I'm sure a lounger would be more than happy to pick some up and mail to you. I wouldn't mind.
I notice too, when googling wave clips, they come up as a lot more pricey...
Though I still have a heckuva time wrangling my hair into the waves of my imagination, these clips have really helped me experiment. Amy Jeanne's photos are a nice reference too.
This is from a couple weeks ago; today I made smaller waves, but didn't take a photo.
I've got a few vintage (Made...
Fessing up now to "Tokyo Zombie." I'm not educated or a particular fan of Asian films, but this one is hilarious. My husband said it best - Napoleon Dynamite with zombies, in Japan.
Finally getting around, just now, to watching one of my Christmas dvds - "Marihuana: Weed with Roots in Hell", 1936. Yes, of course it's cheesy, but oh how I'm lusting over those mid-thirties fashions!

And there's even post-code nudity! How'd that...
You know, doll, the color is what sent me over the edge on this one. I've got so much black and grey and white and subtlesville color in my wardrobe, and I don't like (nor do they work on me much) bold primaries or springy pastels. So, when I find a vavavoom green, I reckon it's meant for me...
On Etsy I do a lot more browsing than actual buying, and most of my purchases are supplies for making art and jewelry. Because of this, I don't feel horribly bad for the purchase that has shipped today. Can't wait to get a box in the mail!
And from the same seller (frugally saving...
Of the movies you mentioned, Feraud, "Sideways" is the only one I've seen, and that one, slightly under duress.
A majority of the films I adore the most and can watch over and over are the ones scarcely heard of.
"Sideways" seemed overrated to me as well. Maybe because by the time I saw it, at a friend's house, she'd gone on and on and on about how funny it was, hastily describing the 'hilarious' scenes to me. I ended up feeling like I was just humoring her by sitting through the whole thing...
