Hello m-luvs, and welcome to the lounge. I'm not overly experienced with cinchers, but am like you - a walking rectangle. ;) I have a Rago 21 that I wear regularly to smooth myself under clingy skirts. It gives me a nice subtle hourglass that I may notice more than anyone else, but we all...
Finally, a chance to wear the vintage dress I bought from Miss 1940s. It's a lovely print (hard to make out in the photo), and trimmed with buttons along the sleeves and pockets.
Yesterday, at the fund-raising arts festival at my daughter's school. I'm holding a clock Tony won in an auction; one of the teachers has a serious hobby of refurbishing them. We didn't realize this one chimed until we got it home.
Despite my hat and parasol, I still got a yucky sunburn on my...
I thought I spied Jergens in Target the other week, but when I went back to get some, couldn't find it at all. The Pond's I've been using is a Mexican version, 'crema c', I think it's called, with green label and lid. It's been fine, though I couldn't quite understand why so many people were...
"Very best", probably not, but very recent; Tony and me Saturday night at an art party. Though the theme was circus, and 'fetish ball', we left the outrageous looks to the younger crowd. I was delighted when someone asked if I was Zelda, and another told me I was Dorothy Parker.
(I hope this...
I bought that gray flowery romper from Charlotte Russe, along with a straw-like summery cloche found at Forever 21. Maybe I'll post a photo, as soon as the weather gets a bit more romper-friendly.
On another note, has anyone seen the Converse One-Star line of vintage-esque clothing at...
Still working on "Zelda: Her Voice in Paradise", which is one of my scores from the library sale, $1. I'm enjoying the difference of perspective and interpretation from my other Zelda/Scott reads.
After our brunch, at a jaunt to the bookshop, Tony discovered "Bright Young People - The Lost...
Just home from friends down the street who fed us eggplant parmesan and played "Drag Me to Hell", which wasn't bad, being a Raimi film and all.
Now, relaxing with a little red wine, cat at my side, and the tail end of "The Misfits" on tv.
I love those cemetery photos too. A lot of people are disturbed by them, but to me, it's lovely to see the humanity beyond the name. I've photographed a few from the cemeteries around me, but they're not real common, and often they've been pried off the stone and stolen. :(
I had a couple of dedicated wash cloths, but in the laundry chaos, they would always go missing. Now I keep a big bag of cotton balls to use, and I'm happy with the way they take the cream off.
I agree, the mall is evil and soul-sucking. On the other hand, I did save on shipping for the hat. ;)
But I'm back on the wagon, for reals. Haven't bought anything since Sunday, and am snacking on free Panera tomato basil bread, slathered with home made cherry jam that was a gift.
You know those situations in which one thing (or purchase) leads to another, despite your best intentions of being good? After Sunday brunch at our regular cafe (where we split one meal, but do splurge on two cups o joe), the hubby said, "you wanna go anywhere to kill time since the laundry...
Home from an arts event, we flicked onto "Caddyshack", and laughed at the lovely, cheesy old humor (and Rodney Dangerfield ;)). After which we flicked to TCM to see "Zero Hour", which I'd never seen, but immediately recognized the almost verbatim "Airplane!" bits. The things you learn...
You don't say. I'll share the festive news with my houseguests this evening, then watch them scrunch up their noses whilst I enjoy a lovely, green, glowing sip of delight. ;)
