    Borsalino Religious Collection?

One Jewish guy's opinion Based upon my understanding, the hat itself is not religious. Jewish men are required to wear a head covering. For some, it is a small round covering with a diameter of about four inches to cover the crown of the head. I have seen rabbis wearing multicolored knitted...

    Hat shops in Philly

Another Philly guy Just wanted to add my name to the list of Philly guys. Oscar is terrific. In fact, the whole store is a little slice of nostalgia. The area where it is located was the center of Philly fashion back in the day.Diamonds, Krass Brothers, Al Berman, Dietz Hats, Dobbs Hats, etc...

    vintage vs. custom

As a lawyer, this proves, beyond reasonable doubt, that for every Tort, there's a retort. Thanks for the input, Art. Best, Sam

    vintage vs. custom

It depends... I own one hat made by Art, an Akubra, and about a dozen vintage hats, so my knowledge is limited. Since I don't let a lack of knowledge interfere with stating my opinion, I would say that we are dealing with apples and oranges. An analogy can be drawn to vintage and modern cars...

    China

Limoges Several years ago, I purchased a set of Ceralene Limoges Diplomat. Slightly less ornate than what is shown in your photo. It is bright white with a 1/4 inch (1/2 cm?) blue band between two pencil thin gold bands around the edge. My understanding was that it was the china used at French...

    I'm Going To Italy.....

Places to see I think there are three must see places in Milan. In no particular order, the Duomo (Cathedral) especially the walk on the roof, Santa Maria della Grazie (the Last Supper is painted on one of the walls), and La Scala opera house. The train station is also magnificent. Food...

    The Great Beer Thread

Aging Old Rasputin Rumblefish, I have been aging mine for about three years and it is still going strong. I think it will go another five easily. The change becomes perceptible after about 18 months. I usually buy a case of a beer I am going to lay down and start sampling at 6 month intervals...

    The Great Beer Thread

Old Rasputin Love the Old Rasputin! Has a very complex flavor and it ages well. After some time, the sweetness diminishes a bit and complex notes of stewed fruit appear. Yummy with (believe it or not) holiday fruit cake! It also has one of the coolest labels in the biz. Best, Sam
