I'm embarking on my first vintage hat restoration project. I've stripped the hat of its lining, ribbon and sweatband and brushed the felt clean. I have tried that before without success. Akubra seem to be very rigid with what colours are used for various models, unless you are willing to order a job lot (22 hats from memory). Some stores can get custom colours, but only when they make a decent size order. A group order with members here... -
Best Crushable Hats
Magus, that makes sense. I'm not one to travel light so I guess that never even occurred to me. Also, I generally wear my hat inside a museum and inside cafes. I do take it off inside a church etc however. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. Are there some crushable hats that are better at... -

I would go with a Moonstone Fed IV. I often wear mine with business casual (or a suit). Although I had a local milliner bind the brim using a vintage mid grey ribbon. -
