Yes, sort of, but I guess everybody has either got Gmail of some sort these days. Try contacting admin, they can authorise you if necessary.

    Real McCoys London visit...

The prices there are out of my reach, I usually go there to buy the magazines. In terms of choices, we are quite spoilt in central London. RM, Clutch, Lewis, American Classic are all within walking distance, there's also RedWing and Filson at Carnaby Street.

    Diversity

Although I still have a long way to go before I can get my hands on the pension money as well as a mortgage to pay off.... I have stop buying leather flight jackets as I already have more than I need:p. As for biker types of jackets, my idea is just to have one jacket per style and I am happy...

Show us your BLUE leather jackets

Ah! I thought some people here don't like blue! Well, I thought borrowing the legendary Paul Newman's head would be more appropriate to show this odd jacket of mine, GSR/Belstaff made, quite chunky for a 'fashion' jacket coming from Italy.

    Original A2s from eBay

What more can I say!? Oh well, with some of the linings and knits replaced, it is really hard to tell whether tags are originals anyway. For the price that this person is asking, you certainly need an expert to examine the authenticity to begin with.

    Tenjin rocks!

They are beautiful, just seriously doubt that they are easy to order. I also wonder what sort of size ranges they can offer, I bet most of the people here will have problem fitting in these beautiful jackets......

    Himel website updated

Yes, "value for money" is my idea of a purchase, but it is also a very subjective (and relative) thing, isn't it? I feel a bit sorry for Himel as it is being made into the scapegoat, but as some of you had said, the price increases with some manufacturers are becoming a bit insane when compared...

    Himel website updated

I agree with the 'Japanese pricing' theory, lots of UK/US makers are jumping onto the Japanese pricing bracket. This may be down to the many crossovers that they are doing with trade shows organised by publishers such as Men's File and Clutch. To be fair to Himel, they had already placed...

    Himel website updated

Interesting conversation stemming from the Himel update. I guess at the end of the day, it is down to two things, price/performance ratio, supply and demand. I personally find the Himels are out of my reach, especially with the very weak GBP at the moment.

    Lewis Leathers Logo

The Japanese have very complex psychologies. While they are so proud of many of their own products, they have special interests in foreign brands. My Japanese colleagues told me that Seiko is not a common brand that they would use, posh people go for Rolexes while the 'commons' go for brands...

    Vanson Model B opinion

Yes, they have the two-way zips on their deluxe models. If you look hard enough on the forum, I remember some unlucky owners of Model B actually broke their zippers on their bikes because of the bending posture while riding.

We are out of touch with mainstream jacket consumers . . . .

Obviously we are not their target audiences. GQ and alike are selling high-fashion styles which are perfectly aligned with their sponsors anyway. Some of their articles are simply copy and paste from the other magazines from the same publisher. Honestly, a few those jackets do look very good...

    Optimal Weight/Thickness

I am in the camp of thickness not equal to quality. There are simply so many factors involved. The thickness of leather should be 'fit for purpose', weather it due to repro authenticity or practical purposes. There are also design and manufacturing considerations, it takes skills to manipulate...

Schott Limited Edition Cafe Racer - Horsehide - Limited run of 50

Wow, that a bit like saying whether Honda is a top tier bike maker or not, it is all relative. At the top end, they certainly can make world beaters as good as any other brands, but they also make 50cc mopeds(scooters) with a max of 35mph and build some of their bikes in Thailand etc. But what...

Schott Limited Edition Cafe Racer - Horsehide - Limited run of 50

I received that email alert as well. Looks interesting but judging from the cutting of the jacket, looks like it is one of those very slim shoulder modern cut which may not look too nice unless you have the physique of a young model. And if you looks at the other pictures in their website, the...

Real McCoy's not expensive enough for you? Try this...

Honestly, it is a bit too shiny, a bit like an antique sofa to me. Not that it's not pretty, but the 'ageing' is a bit too artificial.

Einstein Levi's Leather Jacket Sells for $147,000

At first I was thinking of getting one as a fellow scientist.... but for 980quids in the UK, I probably would go for something else... maybe an ELC B-3.
