Thanks to all for the replies. I've been investigating birdseye and nailhead on various websites. Seems that these two fabrics mean different things to different people.
I like the look though
Lear (the ugly one)
About a week ago, I found myself in the Delta line at London Gatwick Airport. It was 7.00am, eyes were drooping, and any thoughts of sartorial awareness couldn't have been further from my mind. Then I noticed a bloke, he was dressed in a cream linen suit and brown suede shoes. The open-necked...
I posted this question on SF, then realized that the folk on FL would probably have a better idea:
To my untrained eye, this jacket appears to be vintage. Any input from would be greatly appreciated. This is exactly the sort of fabric I'm after... gorgeous!
Is there a mill making...
Nil Desperandum!
For a long time, I considered black leather to be for the sleek and fashionable. Only to be worn by rugged macho men. Well, I've overcome that prejudice. My black Aero should be here soon. I don't care if people laugh, point, guffaw or ridicule. If I want that horsehide to cup...
I don't have a gun, in fact I've never handled a gun; living in the UK where guns are illegal. I posted this pic on Style Forum. Here it is again:

Bury it
Edit: I agree with what Creeping Past has said below. There are many threads devoted to this subject. Searching will provide you with lots of great advice :)
A costume designer for one of our UK opera houses, assures me that they sometimes bury leather jackets outside (under soil) for...

Mods: I realize that this entire thread belongs in Display Case -> Vintage Family Photos. Could you move it to there please?

Edit: I don't want to duplicate the discussion regarding this jacket, taking place here: http://thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=48300 This is purely about similar cuffs on Aero coats.
I like these button cuffs on the Bruce Willis jacket:
I also like the fit and style of the...
Like you, I also can't wear a slim cut jacket. Have always considered the Highwayman to be a slim model. Maybe I'm wrong, having only ever owned a coat.

Edit: I'll keep my opinions to just the coats :o
Bobjones has provided the polite version of what I was trying to say. Apologies for sounding so forthright.
Also, you may find that FQHH is not for you. Some find it way too heavy for comfort. Another reason to get only one to begin with.
Good luck on your quest :)

The fact that you're still at the jumping around stage, means that you'll probably change the order a month or so into the waiting period. Be absolutely sure of what you want; only then place the order. It can get mighty confusing, for both you and Aero, to have an entire bespoke order wiped out...
Well, in the USA they're probably seen as an exotic luxury. In the UK, every other person has one :p
:offtopic: I think the journey for your FQHH is:
Canada -> Chicago -> Scotland -> USA
The short jackets aren't for me either. However, the Long Halfbelt appears to be part jacket, part coat. It fills a need, for those of us not suited to the groovier styles.
I have a black FQHH Veste de Rallye on the way (before end of Feb), but would consider the Long Halfbelt as my next and...
Oh cruel world!
I have to go now, the tears are wetting the electrical contacts on my laptop. I can take alone, but not electrocuted and alone.
You all run along now, and have a romantic time. Don't worry about me...

OneEyeMan, all good points. We have no idea how many standard units Aero ship. Possibly, most of their customers head straight for the web site and place their order - done!
We are not normal, well actually I am, it's just that you lot aren't. If FL make up 10% of their customers, then giving...
When I ordered my first Aero, I was reluctant to commit so much to a garment I'd never seen, let alone tried on.
So, in an ideal world, wouldn't it be nice if once a year (London, UK + East Coast, USA + West Coast, USA), there was a gathering of Aero jackets/coats. A place where newbie and...
He serves to ridicule and magnify the emptiness. Merely displays the reasons for my solitude
Wait... could that be a knock at the door?... No, simply the howling wind...
