50s here too! I have no plans of ever leaving it in the dust, though. As much as I do love Elvis it's my dad who has always been my inspiration. He was born in '49 and his tastes never really changed after he came back from Vietnam. I grew up listening to the oldies, the Beatles, and stories...
xitsvivx, I LOVE the second do! I don't think it's matronly at all, it exudes confidence to me! You are really amazing at styling your hair, I'm jealous!
Has anyone posted about Urban Decay? They're 100% cruelty free (not tested on animals) and a good portion of their line is vegan.
I love it and the little dagger at the bottom of the tube.
I went to Ulta today and picked up two Urban Decay lipsticks and a lip liner. Urban Decay is 100% cruelty free (not tested on animals) and a good portion of their line is vegan.
I got a red (Revolution) and wanted a 30s rose/raspberry-ish color (Buzzkill).
kamikat, nonsense! I think that'd be cute on you. The romper type thing could be a beach cover-up/hanging around the house outfit, and the skirt could be made in coordinating fabric and worn when you go out (not "out" like evening, but to the store or to lunch or something).
Always wanted this but always missed it on eBay! So simple but incredibly cute.
I also just got Lauren's 30s sportswear pattern and Colette Pattern's Sencha blouse.. seriously done with the spending now. ;)
miss molly - if your image is hosted on Photobucket, there should be an "edit" option...
Wow, DPD! I really love everything, the green dress is perfection. Seeing you in your EvaDress jumper really makes me want to re-make it again with better fabric choices, you look so chic.
Hehe, thanks ladies!
Lauren, definitely! Before I'd seen the pattern and not really given it much attention because I didn't know if culottes could work on me, but for that price, why not try? :D
I always do in the summer but I need to get better at wearing it most other times, even if it's Spring or not sweltering and I don't plan on being outside for a long period of time.
Love the jacket on the first one! And I like the Katharine Hepburn one. Usually when I see the Hollywood patterns I don't really connect the outfit with the actress, but that really looks like something she'd wear/has worn (I don't know!) in a movie.
