As a matter of personal taste, I am not one for mixing those particular patterns.
I do like each garment and accessory on it's own merit, however.
Overall, good show, and better dressed than most in these modern times....
My father said he took me to see "Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte" when I was a small child, and that my Mom got mad at him because I enjoyed it at the time but then had nightmares afterward, lol...
Dear ol' Dad.
We in DFW have been getting a few flurries/sleet over the last day. I envy the amount of snow you are getting in that I love snow and cold weather, but in a way I'm glad we're not getting it because I've worked so hard to get our lawn back up and running,lol..
Enjoy!
True, true of Dallas. I've gotten nothing but compliments so far (some of whom have no idea that my suit is in it's 60's and looks great for it's age), but when I mention my interest in vintage wear and lifestyle, it is always "zoot suits" and "gangsters". Glad you didn't get the "pimp" thing...
I liked both the original movie version, and the cable mini-series version, which actually stayed with the book:) The latter version went to the trouble of doing the topiary animals, which in the book scared me witless, lol.
Great one, Lizzie!
I find it very odd that it is those who choose to dress in older, classier styles that get the "out of place" comments. If you had a mohawk and nose piercing and tattoos, no one would have said a thing[huh]
My algebra teacher is quite elderly, and sometimes tells us things about her childhood. She is a very nice lady.
I wore vintage this last class to show her some of the clothing I have, and she was very complimentary but made the weirdest comment I've gotten thus far:
"Are you preaching? You...
My Mom was very funny about him, lol. It's kind of hard to describe. She outwardly responded with some sort of, "oh, he's silly" kind of attitude, but in the tone of her voice I could tell she adored him, too.
He was a handsome devil, to be sure.
While we're on the subject, here is a face casting I have, taken from the face of a VERY recognizable favourite actor of mine, when he was still alive:)
This copy is cast in ultracal, and the level of detail suggests that it isn't very many generations from the original.
