Very nice jacket indeed, congrats. The left sleeve is a tad longer than the right, right? No big deal, but visible. The back is a bit like the "Pioneer", I also love the functional back-seam. The alignment of the seems of back-joke and sleeves is a very nice detail, too.
I have Tartan in a FQHH-jacket, cotton-drill in a Kudu-jacket and the "house"-tartan called Lannark in a OPHH-jacket. All are great, but given the climate you live in, I would suggest cotton, which would be Lannark or drill, and of these two I'ld take the Lannark in a brown FQHH. It is a bit...
Well, I would consider buying this jacket even if it is a bit "style for middle-aged-men" - heck, I'm 50 - and the overall square looks, but then I just bought a jacket and there's no room for another one.;) I like it, though.:D
I have several shoes made from suede (velour, to be precise), with the right maintenance they don't stain at all. I use a simple impregnation-spray and occasionally go over them with a special suede-brush (contains thin brass-brushes) and the shoes looks perfect after some years of wear...
Oggy, some remarks and info on my Teamster I just received from Aero you find here. I've choosen the lighter "oil-pull" horse-hide and the dark chocolate colour and matte finish of the hide is very nice. The lining is a "Lannark" cotton-tartan, which is one of the options you can tick without...
Great jacket and perfect fit! But then you're one of these guys who could donn a garbage-bag and look good. :D
Please stop posting these pics, btw, your pics of the Teamster made me order that jacket and I don't have the funds for an A2. ;)
No no. ;)
Just think of it as an adventure, or an "event", if you please, take your loved one alongside and make something special out of it. Costs are meaningless, as long as you can afford it, but the jacket will stay longer than you can remember the money. Just my 2 ct.
@Fanch, I've got the...
I would suggest the oil-pull HH as a lighter (considerably so!) and much easier to control hide for a jacket. I recently got a Teamster in that hide and it is very nice indeed.
If you are unsure about how the buttons can be operated in a thick hide: They work perfect, very easy from the...
These "Knobelbecher" have been work- and hunting-boots for the upper-class-people in the German countryside of old. Extremely sturdy and protecting the wearer from the elements, from the mud and manure and ****. You could imagine old Bismarck wearing these when inspecting his estates east of the...
Many of the posters here seem to forget that the tie itself is a relatively recent development, dating back to the "cravate" in the 17th century France when Louis XIII was the king, brought to England by Charles II in 1660, if Wikipedia is right ;). The pic posted by herringbonekid shows a much...
