Well, the pictures of the back show clearly it is not the normal LHB, no "action-back". Price seems ok, so if you want a longer jacket and the measures are yours, try it.
Great story. I particular like how much it emphasises the sheer stupidity of some people, or let me say, the total lack of knowledge and culture in certain places.
When I got my first LHB from Aero, with the patch-pockets and all, and wore it out with a simple Stetson felt-hat, I got all the...
Excellent jacket and fit, nice leather, too. The lining looks a bit as if you took an old blanket apart, but each to his own, I guess.:D And you could work on your posture, take these shoulders back, will you?:D :D
The pic with the leather-strip at the hem of the jacket should be sent to...
Back OT: Why the jacket? Because it looks cool and manly and all that. The only Indy-movie I like is the first, it was back then a very whitty melange of anti-Nazi-, adventure-cum-historical-fiction-, half-humor-half-serious-, dash-of-supernatural-movie of sorts, quite unique and extremely...
Yes. But you're not alone. :D
I have the same effect as you describe in all my Aero-jackets, a Teamster, a Long Halfbelt and a Pioneer. It is actually bothering me a bit, but the jackets fit ok otherwise and I guess you cannot avoid it with the cut these jackets have. You would need much...
I agree, the second jacket is a bit longer in appearance, less than an inch, I'ld say. My guess is, as it is older, it already is broken in and thus follows the shape of your torso a bit better. You can see it at the shoulder-joints, in the older jacket you see them, in the newer the...
Well, I'm sure it could become charcoal after a little flame-thrower-treatment, you never know... :D Maybe you're better off with something more robust, Kevlar would spring to mind. If you can live with the yellow, that is. :D
If you're after a lighter hide, I would throw in the brown "Oil-Pull" horsehide. Definitely beautiful and about 2/3 of the weight of FQHH, a very rich chocolate-brown color and a nice drape right out of the box. I got the "Teamster" made of this and love it.
I would pull the trigger on the jacket with no more consideration. You will never get that "perfect" in a certain sense, a leather jacket never is. And period correct? What does that mean? I would think also in the 50th there was a certain variation in garments, leathers, the like. You should...
Forget about half an inch, this is nonsense. Of course, sleeves run up a bit, but for "§$%& sake, this is a leather-jacket, not a posh suit. Aero cannot work on that precision, anyway.
Very nice jacket, good fit and beautiful hide! The bulkyness in the back will cease once the jacket is broken in. Nice lining, too. Congrats all around!
