I just received a new Akubra Stylemaster. I am not used to breaking in a new hat. Does it take time to feel right on your head and not so stiff? -
Most common hat size
So why does it seem men had smaller hat sizes back in the day? There are a ton of size 7 and below, but few size 7 3/8 to 7 1/2 vintage hats on the market. Doesn’t make sense. -

I recently purchased a Borsalino with the same kind of white sticker and price tag of $22.00 in a Rogers and Peet hat box. I think the sticker indicates ~1961-65. It’s the nicest felt I have ever handled. Pictures above from previous post I am responding to. -

I am a new hat enthusiast and my first purchase, I picked up a size 7 3/8 Borsalino for $45.00. The label underneath the band indicates it was made between 1954-1960. I am amazed how soft the felt is. I love it. -

Nice, I just purchased two vintage Rogers and Peet Borsalinos both include the Rogers and Peet hat boxes. One only has the Roger and Peet label on the liner. Now waiting for their arrival. -

That is a possible scenario. But nearly every hat Kevin owns is a Borsalino. But he always says only get the superiore models and cautions the others are of inferior quality. I just saw a Youtube video from Kevin (Hats and Guitar) who works at JJ Hats in NYC and he said the owner is selling again Borsalino hats and that the quality has come back after a few horrible cheap years following bankruptcy when corners were being cut. Anyone else hear of this?
