My one and only White Smithbilt
Mine was produced back when the company was family owned. I spoke with a co. rep and provide the build numbers off of this hat. He guesstimated 40's-50's. The company still produces dress hats as well as westerns and still has a very good reputation...
No one was yelling, just pointing you to a source for your questions. The search function leave much to be desired, so Alan was kind enough to compile a list of most often asked questions.
Bart, it is ? I do not want to come off as flip, but the photo is very accurate. It has a purple hue to it. The hat is a Dobbs 20 I picked up off of ebay. Is the ribbon and binding original, I could not say. I do like it though. Here is another photo.
This is how it look upon arival.

Possible, but NOT likely. Having purchased many hats from Robert without one problem, I will stay with Robert and recommend him to any and all. Anyone who shows up only to double post the same thread and trash someone, will not earn my respect nor my sympathy.
Art builds a first class hat, it can be seen in the details. The sweat lays perfectly, no pucker or waffling. You chose the right hatter for an absolutely stunning hat. If only all customs were built to Arts exacting standards. I bet it fits like a dream. Enjoy your prize.
Beau is a 9 y/o gelding, he was never registered and I have not bothered. Being a gelding, it would not really matter. We have his paperwork. He was sired by Roosters Last who was sired by Rooster Fish off of the King Ranch in South Texas. He stands 15 1/2 hands and weighs about 1300 lbs. Big...

Robert, I hate to see it come to that. That being said, I fully understand your feelings as many times working with the public is trying at best. There seems to be a growing subculture that feels they are owed Tiffany value at a Walmart price supplied at McDonald's speed. I am sure that I am not...
I picked this up a while back, just have not had the time to post it. Light and airy, great summer hat. Not sure of the age, I am guessing 60's, 70's maybe.
I am at a loss, the hat looks fine, the proportions fit you. I have seen these hats time and time again, and it is listed as “AT LEAST 2 1/2". What kind of service do you expect? The offer is there to swap, I would call that very helpful. Your paying the shipping for your mistake is hardly out...
Pilgrim, you got a very nice hat at a great price. I have one exactly like it. I will go out on the limb one more time and repeat what I have posted before. It is YOUR HAT, DO WITH IT AS YOU WILL.

LOL Kiltie, I am not sure of the origin of "honey hole", but it was a term that was used back in the days that I fished the B A S S Tournament Trail in the 80's
