I was debating on between a seven and sheene for awhile and would have gotten the latter if I knew that I could the back to fit like yours. Unfortunately yours seemed to be the exception as most had the large shoulders.I think it's ok here.

Thank you very much.I was debating on between a seven and sheene for awhile and would have gotten the latter if I knew that I could the back to fit like yours. Unfortunately yours seemed to be the exception as most had the large shoulders.
You should be a consultant with aero to work in their pattern and CS fitment department!
I actually had them do some custom adjustments to the back panel that will bring in the excess leather on the back and should help some of the leather bunching at the shoulders too. That and Carrie was pretty convinced that because it was too long it was not able to sit correctly and was being pushed up my back, causing the leather to bunch even more. But the seven will most definitely not work for me. I’m 5’7” with a 42 inch chest and a 32 inch waist, the board racer or seven pattern would be quite bad on me unfortunately.So…..
I have the Seven style mentioned by several members above. It can be built to look almost exactly like the Sheen but does not have such a severe taper from the shoulders down to the waist. It is meant for us guys that do not have the walking V physique of gym rats and genetically blessed individuals. Judging by the shelf full of supplements shown in your post photos, I assume you are a weightlifter and this is probably why Carrie started you off with the Sheene instead of a Seven.
I would advise talking to Carrie about the Seven as an option but keep in mind that the size references change dramatically and you will likely be looking at a Seven that is two whole sizes above the Sheene You are now trying.
Also be aware that the Seven has higher armholes and narrower sleeve barrels that may be a problem if you are looking for more freedom of movement.
In the three years since I ordered my Seven, I started doing more upper body work related to shoulder therapy and notice it is a bit snugger in the shoulders than ideal. However, it looks great on me - according to the wife.
On body length, my Seven ends right at the bottom of my belt in front And right at the top of my jeans pockets in the rear. perfect for me.
The sleeves on my Vicenza Seven did not really shorten any with creasing. Not sure if this is due to the narrower sleeve but I have heard others comment that this really did not happen for them either. Ask Carrie.
Those adjustments should be perfect!!I actually had them do some custom adjustments to the back panel that will bring in the excess leather on the back and should help some of the leather bunching at the shoulders too. I did! The final fit ended up being really great!Did you end up ordering the Sheene? How was the final fit?

Do you think you would notice a visual difference between CXL SH and FQHH if it were sold as FQHH?I still like the look of CXL FQHH the best.
This is in the black vachenza HH which is supposed to be a lot softer/ less stiff but this batch that I got is very stiff! It took awhile to break in and get comfortable, but the movement is pretty good on this jacket. I know CXL fqhh would likely be even more stiff than that but it does vary from batch to batch and you can request a softer cut of hide if they have one and they’ll try to accommodate it! I have read many threads were people say the CXL fqhh never really softens up, it stays pretty stiff long term, so if you want a leather that’s going to soften up I would probably look more to the CXL steer hide.Looks great on you. Did you go with CXL FQHH? How is the stiffness and range of movement?
I still like the look of CXL FQHH the best. And even though I'm in Florida, I could probably make it work with a thinner hide and the right lining. I have a pretty heavy Schott 613 heavy steer hide that I don't get to wear nearly enough, but it's great when it's super cold. If I could get the right fit and break in with CXL FQHH, I might still pull the trigger on it. I imagine Carrie will help me sort that out when it's time to buy.
CXL SH, Jerky HH and Badalassi are considerations too (though I think the squeakiness of the latter would get to me).
I appreciate the response. I'm new to TFL and to Aero jackets. Had a few Schotts over the years (my other was a 118 cowhide).
Do you think you would notice a visual difference between CXL SH and FQHH if it were sold as FQHH?
I myself would not be sure about that.
I feel like maybe overtime as the grain comes out and the CXL breaks in the difference may become more apparent. But yeah, I’m not sure it would look a ton different brand new. People not as into leather and jackets certainly wouldn’t know the difference!Do you think you would notice a visual difference between CXL SH and FQHH if it were sold as FQHH?
I myself would not be sure about that.
Well, if that isn't a good reason. Some things you just have to haveI think I'm intrigued with horsehide because all the leather jackets I've owned have been cow or steer hide.
