Tried the brown two tone, but have to go with the black. I seem to always land on black.

Now that looks cold I grew up North Sea coast of England where it's -1c feel right now and snowing, I'm spoiled here in Madrid

Thedi in brown canneto cowhide made for thurston today. Now that I own a black canneto and have handled a number of examples from thedi directly vs made for thurston I have some personal conclusions regarding some differences that are meaningful to me.

There must be significant variation in the canneto cow hides. This brown one is very thick and stiff. My black one is completely different, perhaps only slightly thinner but super supple. There are also construction and selection queues from the thurston versions compared to custom by thedi or direct from thedi that will likely keep me working with him directly for future jackets. I’m glad I got this one used off eBay, really nice still but vastly different from my recent canneto black version.

Haha Tor, I've got a 40s French Horsehide barnstormer here Mouton lined, weighs a ton, I'd lose a few kilos wearing that maybe in a snowstorm in the Pyrenees is better

Not at all. I’m noticing differences from comparing a few different jackets in person now - for me going custom from Thedi directly is the way to go for the quality and fit I’m looking for. There is a pattern however but willing to admit my sample size may still be low. For example, IRL I have handled about 12 custom made jackets direct from thedi and about 6 made for/spec’d by Thurston (I own two) and I observe differences which to some may not be meaningful but the question comes up a lot whether to go one way or the other. I’ve made my decision.
