Hey there - ha, I too was party to that pain and eventually capitulated! It actually fits very very similarly to my J24, but with a little more breathing room in the midriff (which for a man of my ever increasing vintage is important), same arm length, same back length and front drop - very very similar.

Thank you!

I do know about the midriff-issue. I can still zip all my jackets, but with some the best part is unzipping it again...

Hit me up if you ever want to part with it. My no-jacket time ends in May, and although I am not in a hurry a J-24 or J-82 is high on my shortlist for the future.

So sad they haven't made any more of these recently, fantastic jacket and great colour! Especially love how the collar rolls on this model!
Thanks. Yes it’s a shame they don’t bring it back.

Awesome pattern! Been looking of this color way for so long now... first dibs if it is size 42 and you plan to let go in future ;)
Haha thanks but this one isn’t going anywhere (it’s also a size 36). They come up every so often on yahoo auctions Japan.

Have not seen this RP. Shows us the interior, back and label. Looks like a sunrise Talon stop box. Look on the bottom of the box for a code.

Here's the photos.
Is this made in 40s-early 50s...?
Correct me if I'm wrong, I heard the mark "3" on this stop box means this zipper was made in 1943. Is that true?

Dangit, I think I may be headed down another rabbit hole. This time it's pointing to half belts/something long enough to cover more of my longer shirts like flannel and denim. Time to start selling stuff to make space!
I personally think, if your hem is a bit slanting dropping from waist down to the center at least the front part, it would look fine worn with even lower rise jeans or longer shirt. a lot more forgiving and you don't need to hit a "perfect" length
