I've been wearing my green JWM cruiser most of the week ( definitely one of my favorite jackets ) , but today I went back to the TLW Chicago municipal.

I really do love this jacket, my first leather jacket, I'm very happy with the quality and the fit, and it has some sentimental value.
If there's anything I'd change about this jacket, I'd like a lighter shade of brown, but I love everything else about it.

We're into cold and clear weather, in the 30's overnight---probably wearing my repro WW2 tanker's jacket w/ AAF, North American Aviation and Pratt & Whitney patches, along with a leather name-tab. It's such a good forgery that I have to correct unknowing peoples' impression that I'm a WW2 vet! (Didn't think I looked like a well-preserved 95-year-old...)
I'd love to get an American made reproduction Ww2 tankers jacket.
My grandfather drove a tank across France with the US ARMY 4th armored division, and to have a tanker jacket would just be awesome.
My uncle has most of his stuff in storage somewhere, and I don't know who will wind up with his jacket if he even kept it.
The small items from his safe I do at least have, but the uniform and everything else I have no clue.

Not sure why varsity jackets get no love around here, but this cheapo one from Cockpit gets its use on errands. They said it was horsehide when they were blowing them out at 1/3 retail a few years back, which is why I bit. Horsehide or not, the bonus is that it has some "teacore" thing going, lol. Very comfortable for grocery shopping.

Lovin my new zip sleeve highwayman. Great call I made going with size 38 tapered to 36 torso/hem. This is thick black cxl steer. Ordered another to match in tumbled cxl brown steer. Added 1/2 inch length sleeves n body and requested 23 pit and 19 shoulder. Pretty much spot on my requests. View attachment 463359

Keep scrolling back to this one. Super cool!

I am with you. Timeless cool! Used to have a very, very cheap polyester version with - umm - plastic arms when I was a teen. Loved it!

I guess it’s the (mis) conception that every jacket with knitted cuffs makes you look old and unfit. Your picture proves the contrary.

It warmed up a bit this afternoon, and this OG-108 wool field shirt was waiting for me at the post office when I got home from the Cal AG museum ( lots of cool old tractors from my area ) so I decided to give it a try as a light jacket since it's a little bigger than I'd want it as a shirt.

Over a Henley a flannel and wool vest, this is going to be a great light / intermediate option.
The other one just might be a perfect option to wear working in the yard.

This old CASE here was used in my town in the 1930's.

I'm still figuring out the OG-108 field shirt, but it works well over the USMC commando sweater.
I'm a big fan of layering for warmth without sacrificing comfort and arm mobility, and this wool field shirt is just another practical / versatile layer.

I can wear it as a shirt if I want to, but it doesn't work well tucked in for me.
