What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

It’s my favourite leather. Thickest leather I’ve ever had, thicker than Aero CXL. Not stiff at all, feels soft and drapes really well. Super nice grain! This is an old Swedish jacket from the 50’s. I think vintage Swedish 50’s and 60’s are usually pretty nice. The couple 70’s jackets I’ve handled have been thinner and felt more plasticky.
This one has a wool blanket liner. It’s not very warm. You need layers if it’s cold.

Looks like your pics didn’t attach @torfjord

$100 for a Natel is a good price, for sure. It's hard to say, but I think it looks like yours isn't made from the same super thick 5 oz leather that the ones I've handled firsthand have been made with. Yours looks like it drapes more like a lighter weight leather. It also looks like it has a removable liner, which is different from most that I've seen from the maker.

Thank you for the comments, Guppy. You are spot on. It is a lighter weight leather and does have a removable liner. Seems like most of the Natal/Natel I have read about are in the Branded category..very heavy It also seems that there is more discussion about "Natal" than "Natel." It would be interesting to know what the connection was, if any, between the two, and how their offerings differed. The fellow I bought the jacket from was under the impression that the shop in Chicago where he purchased it years ago was somehow connected to Natel.

That was on purpose :). I was responding to a question related to this post, where you can find pictures: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...ou-wearing-today.82949/page-1384#post-2736127

Edit: this one and my other vintage Swedish goat jacket along with my goat Fivestar has really converted me into a ******** goat lover. All of them are substantial weight while still feeling light and easy to wear. I like it more than horse or cow, that’s for sure.

Those handwarmer pockets on the ELMC might be a too bit high to let you hands rest in them. They do give the jacket it's distinctive look.

Are you at the Kloveniersburgwal & Raamgracht junction?! Looks like Zuiderkerk in the background. God I miss Amsterdam. Used to browse an English-language used bookshop right near there as a student.

I am! Right in front of the English bookstore, which is still there btw.

Can you believe this is what the red light district looks like righ now. Pre-Covid this was not a place Amsterdam inhabitants would go. This was drunk-tourists area. Only now we can see the beauty of the historic center of Amsterdam.

Looks absolutely fantastic on you!
thank you!!! This jacket has me rethinking measurements because on paper it should not fit, it should be short, it should be tight in the shoulders, etc. etc. But if anything it is slightly big. I have the straps fully pulled in. I swear if I would have ordered a new one, it probably would have been XL instead of this L.

So true! Based on the numbers alone, I should have needed at least one inch more in every single dimension. Still it did fit and felt right. Something very cunning about Thedis patterns, I guess...

Shout out to @Tom71 for this one. Package went on a journey, but it finally got here and it's a beauty. Can now check Thedi off my bucket list.

As always, the dog not impressed.

Congratulations on a great pick up! That jacket is so cool. If I ever get a Thedi then that would be the design I opt for as well.

I did notice before when I visited my cousin that his husky would always go crazy mad when I would wear the goatskin five star trucker but not react when I would wear other leather jackets that I own lol
