Good work DD. I'm sure your wife will be happy to wear it. Good look of a woman too.

Since im never going to win a Stetson auction, I'm moving on to the resistol stagecoach camp after seeing the hats in here.
I absolutely have to have a tan/brown hat reblocked to telescope like the beauty up above!

Just another example of a Stagecoach in Chestnut color refurb to fedora by VS.

That chestnut Stagecoach is one of my favorite colors and favorite hats. When I was younger I wore the full "cowboy" brim, but now cut it down to more modest "big fedora" size. Regardless, I have always seemed to have at least one in my collection. You can still find them in the big 7-58 or 3/4 sizes occasionally, all with that same macrame hat band!

Thanks for jogging my memories!

A hat sure to make you smile. :)

I also tried John’s @moehawk suggestion and used liquified coconut oil on the hat to restore its flexibility and allow for shaping. It worked well and the coconut scent is very mild and quite pleasant. Of course I have been humming Jimmy Buffett songs all day....

I gave your Tom Mix the coconut oil treatment and it worked well. I left the hat in my shop with the door open, came back a few hours later to discover the hat covered in flies...presumable either having lunch or just basking in the nice aroma. It did give the felt a nice sheen and really did help to enliven the lustre of a sun bleached, dried out felt.

I’ve heard that if you spritz the hat with some rum after applying the coconut the flies are much happier.
