What's for Dinner?

HaHa! Usually she tries to kill me with undercooked poultry. Rare is o.k. for steaks, but if yardbird is still pink it ain't done!

Speaking of birds, I am currently making broth with the remains of Thursdays dinner. Tonight I'm going to use it for caldo verde.

Portuguese Kale Soup. My grandmother used to make that. I would run away from it screaming. :p The smell is enough to kill a horse. :p

Steak, cauliflower, and green beans.
Looks like I'll be eating late though.
I just ate 3 eggs, 5 sausage links, and 3 pieces of pepper bacon.
We started breakfast at 11, but I couldn't stay up for it.

Well, you know how it smells when you boil kale. lol lol Reminds me of the campfire scene in blazing saddles. :p

If you're boiling kale or any other of it's cabbagy cousins long enough to stink up your house you are cooking all the vitamins out of it and theres no point in even eating it.:D

We got those too, and when one of them lets go it COULD kill a horse.

Bon Apetit

Ours don't do that.
Can't say why, but I'm not complaining.

32oz steak tonight (Kroger had them on sale for $12 each), one for me and one for my wife.
Cauliflower fried with onions in an iron skillet.
Tapatio hot sauce for the cauliflower, and Delmonico steak sauce for the steak.

I picked up a taste for Tapatio, after noticing Cholula wasn't hot enough, while it has it's place, Tapatio is my favorite by far.
I also have 2 brands of habanero sauce.
Usually I put hot sauce on vegetables, and on meat that I put in a low carb wrap such as chicken, beef, and turkey.
If the meat is stand alone, such as steak, I have sauces for that, although I have been known to add habanero to kick it up a bit.
Why hot sauce?
I grew up using Louisiana Hot Sauce because of allergies.
One of my favorite snacks when I was a teen, was Lays potato chips and hot sauce.
It helped clear my sinuses and wake up my taste buds to actually taste the food.
A few years ago I started using it daily again because of this.
Now neurological and not sinus related.
Oh well...
BTW that soup looks great, but I read the ingredients.
Uh no thank you.
