WOW! 57 degrees this morning... I can wear a jacket. We have a couple days of a false autumn before we heat back up for a couple of weeks

Playing with the tall Resistol this morning.. Still havent decided on a full time bash. Tried a more or less level one first... its a tall boy!

Still have a bit of brim edge cleanup and straightning to do, but its getting there. If anyone has ideas and experience toning down these tall crowns, Im all ears
Rick, I have a Timber Creek with a similarly tall, square, crown. First I tried a Gus, but didn't care much for it, since it looked too generic. I finally squashed it down quite a bit, and gave it a squarish "mule stomp" as opposed to just a "mule kick", and am fond of the unusual result, especially once I added the ribbon.

love my Bogart. one of my grail hats is a light grey Bogart. Actually had one in my hands once, but it was about 5 sizes too small. That hat in a light grey with black grosgrain is a sharp looking lid
No doubt it one well balanced hat and the light grey would be perfect for suit wear.

Great looking Lee, Randall.

Can we see the box?
It’s a 40s Lee “Adventure” box.
That’s how I knew it was merely period correct and not original to the hat—unless, possibly it was sold together with the White Label hat because the hat store was out of extra rare white label boxes?. :)

My nutmeg coloured hat would have been my choice with this blazer, but this hat is complimented by the trousers that Tina made. Tina also made the blazer fit, bought at a festival very cheaply, my lady quickly realised that the jacket was made to measure and the right hand sleeve was a very poor fit. She took it apart, repaired it and now it fits a treat.

Done a good job with it, Mark!
Is “mule stomp” real nomenclature?

The bespoke Susquehana is today's hat, on this glorious autumnal sunny morning. It's an early start, I have an appointment with an oncologist surgeon at half nine, to assess this wretched hernia, so I had better get a move on.
Always nice to see, your Susquehana is super, Robert. Classic!

From personal experience I believe there is a global pandemic of wretched hernias, straight out of a laboratory somewhere!
