Homburgs are a lot more versatile than people think, Tim, yours looks great!

Bowlers and homburgs and Lord's hats, what a grand parade today!
Thanks, Randy.

Today....stormy Mondays always get me down...but not out. I ventured out into the storm armed with all weapons against virions and ne’er-do-wells for a personal necessity. I violated my daughter’s decree and felt more guilty then when, at age 14, i used to steal my Mom’s 64 Mustang and joy ride.
I armed my head with a fine Knox Twenty, lovely felt and a fine custom edge. I’ll prob get busted for this venture too!
Be well and safe and don’t get busted.
Bowen
Who would have thought you'd get a kick like that again, Bowen;) With that hat on it was a joy ride of its own.

I hope everyone had a safe, healthy day!
Very nice hats both, Roger.

Yes, awhile. For some reason I seem to favor it in spring and summer.

Two more great ones on the English Beat, Stefan. I Confess that that I'm glad you didn't Save it for Later

Thanks Randy. Although it was darn brisk today it will soon be the best time of year for hats and suits. Not too hot, not too cold.

thanks Reggie. Good to see you around. I was wondering today how things were going in Philly, since I haven't seen you around here for a bit.

Thanks all,
Michael
Thanks, Michael. I would have thought having this many was just one step beyond; madness really:).

30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 13
Stefeno Camden - Milan Braid Straw

View attachment 227417

Super hot day today had me reaching for the Stefeno Camden from JJ Hat Center in NY. My first and for quite a while only straw. This Milan weave straw with two inch snap brim has gotten a lot of wear over the past few years.. as almost every day in Florida could be straw weather. So it is starting to show some sweat staining on the front and ribbon.

I love this hat first because it was a gift from my mother... and second because it allows me to put on my best Blacklist Season 4 Raymond Reddington without the full on serious montecristi panama investment LOL.

This one one certainly wouldn’t survive the near fatal car crash and being blown up in a warehouse as Spader’s did in the first few episodes of that season... but it would probably fair better than a fine montichristi would in real life!

Going strong, Joe. The brim has some attitude on that one.

Janyška "Parga" possibly late 1930s early 1940s. As you can see the felt is really fantastic. This hat is from my May 2016 NOS Czech find.

This week I will highlight Janyška & Cie. from Czechoslovakia. Janyška & Cie. was started in the 1920s in Valašské Meziříčí – Krásno about 25 km from Nový Jičín (location of JHS, BB, AP). Janyška & Cie. was a Czech company based on Austrian hat tradition. Janyška & Cie. became Tonak Factory 2 post WWII and the factory was closed 1961.

Fantastic, Steve. This is going to be a good week! Looking forward to the others.

Very nice, Perry. Wonderful combination with that mid-ribbon.

Nice colour and finish to that felt, Tim.

Good Tuesday folks.

A vintage Adam fedora was my choice for a morning jaunt.

Be safe, be strong and see you on the streets soon, Eric -
Effortlessly stylish, Eric.

I haven’t been able to get the kids out of the house to save my life. The teacher puts it in today’s assignments to complete and suddenly my son want to go Pokémon hunting.

I never wear this hat but love it. Carbon grey Akubra Squatter
Be safe everyone.
Johnny
Well, those Pokemon aren't going to hunt themselves you know. At least you wore a good hunter's hat for it!

Magnificent. English quality from an era when that still meant something.

Looks great Joe. I know what you mean about the Montecristi investment, I've been looking myself and they can get rather pricey. I have some straws on the way from ebay that will have to tide my over.....

I held some in my hands in a store in St Augustine that take several months for one weaver to weave... just incredible. But I also felt like they could snap like rice paper. I felt nervous just holding them.

It does have a bit of its own will... I think I kinda had it snapped somewhere between up and down in some of those. Noticed it afterwards... I still liked the character it had... gave it a bit of a strange Hollywood brim.

How do you like that 100% beaver Excellent Quality felt? Looks very nice! Brim up baby.
Hey Jonesy, I'm no expert... But I like it. The finish is excellent, The felt is on the thick side but not too stiff. I have two of these, the other one is Sage. I have to confess though, I didn't pay full retail. I have family in Garland TX, I go there a few times a year and of course I make a point to go to the outlet store. Supposedly a second with some kind of flaw. I believe the only flaw on this one was the size tag, I normally wear a 7 5/8, this one is 7 1/2 and fits perfect.
