I hope you aren't toting doors in an Intrepid. :)

I always manage to knock my hat off hanging doors --- beween the door in one hand and nailer in the other, bending over to fit shims, the door swinging before the hinge side is plumb ... actually, its rare to hump a door down a hall and up stairs without knocking my hat off before ever getting to the R/O.
Hmmm. Were you watching me?
That’s exactly how it was going for me today! :)
8’ foot solid core doors makes things much more “fun”.
And no, Sir, Them don’t haul well in the trunk of a Mopar.

Congrats!. Cool hats and cool pics.

Very nice, Perry. Like the colour.

It's been a while since we've seen that one, Michael. Nice to see it again.
Yes, awhile. For some reason I seem to favor it in spring and summer.

Two more great ones on the English Beat, Stefan. I Confess that that I'm glad you didn't Save it for Later

Nice Lord's hat, Michael. You get my vote for best dressed of the week!
Thanks Randy. Although it was darn brisk today it will soon be the best time of year for hats and suits. Not too hot, not too cold.

Nice Dobbs and Donegal, Michael! Bacon looks good too.
thanks Reggie. Good to see you around. I was wondering today how things were going in Philly, since I haven't seen you around here for a bit.

Thanks all,
Michael

30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 13
Stefeno Camden - Milan Braid Straw

00971A18-2E6F-4632-A089-487214988772.jpeg

Super hot day today had me reaching for the Stefeno Camden from JJ Hat Center in NY. My first and for quite a while only straw. This Milan weave straw with two inch snap brim has gotten a lot of wear over the past few years.. as almost every day in Florida could be straw weather. So it is starting to show some sweat staining on the front and ribbon.

I love this hat first because it was a gift from my mother... and second because it allows me to put on my best Blacklist Season 4 Raymond Reddington without the full on serious montecristi panama investment LOL.

This one one certainly wouldn’t survive the near fatal car crash and being blown up in a warehouse as Spader’s did in the first few episodes of that season... but it would probably fair better than a fine montichristi would in real life!

We are holding up here. The Philadelphia metro area is pretty much at a standstill. I have been working but on a limited basis. Trying to keep my staff employed and walking the financial tightrope. Everyone is healthy so far, thank goodness, so we're weathering the storm. Unfortunately, there are a lot of local sad stories concerning people who have contracted COVID-19.
I'm still around lurking in the lounge. I've been wearing lots of caps lately and dressing rather casually as I go to work and come home right home. I have a bunch of hat pics on my phone, but I'm just too lazy to get them into the computer and upload them to the site. Be well, and keep up your social distancing.

Janyška "Parga" possibly late 1930s early 1940s. As you can see the felt is really fantastic. This hat is from my May 2016 NOS Czech find.

This week I will highlight Janyška & Cie. from Czechoslovakia. Janyška & Cie. was started in the 1920s in Valašské Meziříčí – Krásno about 25 km from Nový Jičín (location of JHS, BB, AP). Janyška & Cie. was a Czech company based on Austrian hat tradition. Janyška & Cie. became Tonak Factory 2 post WWII and the factory was closed 1961.

An excellent example!

Janyška "?" possibly late 1930s early 1940s. The model name on the paper label is blurred beyond recognition. As you can see the felt is really fantastic. This hat is from my May 2016 NOS Czech find.
