Wide brim, high crown Resolut Homburg for this evening's trip to the theatre in Copenhagen.

Lovely, Steve, and you're back in that tweed I admire.

Seriously great hat, Perry. Excellent high crown and rolled flange.
I've admired the shirt before, but never said so. I'd like to hear more about it. It reminds me of a handful of my dad's shirts I commandeered after he stopped wearing them.

A little damp out this morning. Dobbs Sixteen Fifty is keeping my head dry.

Had to get in a little cape action today. I think I'll see how it works on the bicycle.

Have a good Monday,

Excellent all around, Micheal.
When I first read cape action, I thought, with lapels like that who needs a cape?
I was wrong.

Moms are the best!

Legend has it that on this day many years ago a pregnant young woman's water broke. According to legend she then drove her 52 Chevrolet, three on the tree near 30 miles from Gadsden, AL to Anniston where she picked up her best friend and they then headed on to the military hospital at Ft. McClellan where I was born. Thanks, Mom. Miss you.

Here’s the fedora I’m proud to wear this morning. it’s the one I previously showed
in the process of “building” from a wide brimmed western hat. I finished sewing on the 1 1/2 ribbon and bow at 1:00 am.
I wore it to our homecoming Church service today with no compliments from anyone...but at least no one said, Hey! Where’d you get that ugly hat?!
Since I couldn’t find an old post in the fedora lounge, or at you tube on how to sew on a ribbon bow I had to wing it yet again. I’ve accomplished the task four times now using my own redneck methods. A different method each time and probably none of them correct, though I hope you all approve of the end result. I’m sure there is an old post somewhere at the Lounge, but I couldn’t find it. Oh well, I do not ever wish to try this again as it is very hard to do for a novice. Can I get a witness out there?

You aren't a novice anymore!
If you can sew a sweat, you can sew a ribbon ---- just like dodgeball ---- if you can dodge a wrench ....
It looks good, Randall.
I actually made instructions for myself of a basic bow. They're crude and drawn out of scale, but you made me realize I should polish them up and share them with fellow Loungers.

Darth Vader's holiday panama (not signed unfortunately)

View attachment 190369

It is in fact a very nice panama hat body. The seller had bought it decades ago in Ecuador and never got around to having a hat made out of it. I have some experience how this can turn out and a quality panama hat body is a no brainer anyway. Turns out it was a bit larger than I anticipated:oops::D
Need to switch to plan B.
It's almost Halloween.
