Ha ha, I think they are one size fits all, Jim. I couldn't resist another one today, this one for a Noble Grand.

I expect I'll be wearing it for tomorrows coffee. They were made in New London Ohio between 1888 and 1913.

Wasn't Norms that guy on Cheers? The Mans at Home robe or banyan was pretty much standard fare from sometime in the 16th century until the 20th. We've just forgotten about it. An example from ~1750

Thanks Max. Those were a pair of nice hats you were showing today.

Thanks,
Michael
It looks a bit like something to wear when you put your head on a brick and have people load your pipe with sweet smelling gooey black stuff.

I am going to camp out on my surgeon's doorstep this morning. The infection in my hand is back, don't know why. Incredible pain and really gross. I assume they will give me another round of antibiotics. Grab and go hat is the early 1960s Cavanagh Thirty. Sinatra's favorite brand. There are images of Frank and the rest of the Rat Pack wearing this exact hat. View attachment 191061 View attachment 191062 View attachment 191063 View attachment 191064
Good luck on the hand.

Moms are the best!

Thank you all for the kind words and birthday wishes. Especially want to thank you for enjoying the story about my my mom. Lady B reminded me that I forgot to add the part of the story where my mom actually took the time to take a shower and put on makeup before driving to the hospital.

Thanks again for contributing to a great day.

Legend has it that on this day many years ago a pregnant young woman's water broke. According to legend she then drove her 52 Chevrolet, three on the tree near 30 miles from Gadsden, AL to Anniston where she picked up her best friend and they then headed on to the military hospital at Ft. McClellan where I was born. Thanks, Mom. Miss you.

Good morning.

Damian Monsivais Cap and coffee (medium roasted Costa Rica peaberry and ground this morning and brewed in a french press with a splash of cream) started my morning.

Vintage Whippet (sage green) worn for a dog walk. This Whippet has some serious swoop to the flange of the brim. The serious swoop is not a fav look of me. I will have to address that and the discoloration on the brim this coming weekend.

You aren't a novice anymore!
If you can sew a sweat, you can sew a ribbon ---- just like dodgeball ---- if you can dodge a wrench ....
It looks good, Randall.
I actually made instructions for myself of a basic bow. They're crude and drawn out of scale, but you made me realize I should polish them up and share them with fellow Loungers.

I’ll be looking forward to your post of the ribbon bow drawing for two reasons.
I draw, too. And I need to see how it’s SUPPOSED to be done. Thanks for your words of encouragement, Rehat. Good to hear from a fellow carpenter.
Here’s a pic of my portrait of the greatest troubadour ever to vibrate a vocal chord.
It’s Merle Haggard. Figured I better tell you who this is supposed to be just in case my art work does his likeness no justice.

This is my hat of the day. Another victim of my ribbon bow and sweat band treatments. A sixties Playboy. It’s a great hat body, but when I got it the sweat and ribbon was deteriorated. I had a nice vintage sweat from a Stetson Royal deluxe where the hat body didn’t make it through time and wear. For the winter, I put in a Stetson liner.
This is not a perfect application, but it works for me.

Borsalino Qualità Superiore size 6 or 7 3/8 US
BNero 4.jpg

It arrived in a batch of the same size from the same seller, this is the more wearable on my head, for the others I'm looking for a new home
BNero 6.jpg
Unlined and very soft, not as most of the "brothers" it is suitable for these warm and crazy days of mid October
BNero 7.jpg
I like this hat for midseason walks
