Karl, I looked at the fur hairs with a video microscope and it's made of Wool. B.B. were known for Wool Soft and Stiff Felt Hats. The hairs are not course so it has a smooth finish. If I get a chance I will take photos. This is a very unique hat so hard to explain. I doubt there is anything else like it on the FL.
It's lovely.

Still wet, still overcast, still dark (I thought it was only supposed to go dark between 12&3). No longer despondent as game time is scheduled for 4:10.

Inspired by @Michael A's headware yesterday, the Mallory Dallas.

BTW, Michael, the brim is not as stiff as I was describing. I always think of it that way, but it's really not. Stiffer than some, but not Akubra stiff. Also, it's a Premier Quality. I'll have to pore over the Mallory Mile and see how their quality levels shake out. Is yours pre- or post-Stetson (mine's post).

NW Fine Hats! Great color, is that silvermist?

I'm happy that the game is possible today. At least they didn't have to get the snowblowers out. Great color on the Dallas.

A Green Knox Vagabond was worn this morning on my walkabout.

This green hued late 1940's felted fedora is incredibly lightweight. It has the noticeable blocked Knox crown of the 40's and early 50's. The advertisement below shows some natty fellows sporting the hat.

Simple leather sweat is really comfortable. The unlined hat has the Knox emblem at the top of the inside crown and is in minty condition.

My challenge over the next days is to hat crease whisper. I need to sort out the crease. Most hats I do not spend a lot of time doing this as I crease them as I put them on. This hat is so supple that after the walk I had a hat that looked much diferent from either my hands or tree/brush touches. Steam should activate enough stiffeners to give a crease that will better guarentee a consistent appearance.

Ah yes, it is green. This gray/green is hard to capture in late winter sun. Cheers, I will have to wear this hat more in order to showcase it's real green.

That's an extraordinary Knox. Thanks for the ad, too. It's so cool when folks are able to dig up the ones for their hats.

Good luck on the crease. That incredible, extraordinarily malleable felt is both blessing and curse. I've got a couple that it's almost as if the wind blows, so does the shape of the crease.

Is that a new acquisition, Eric? I don't recall it, and you'd think I'd remember something that nice.

Nice looking hat there.

I think mine is post-Stetson, but I'm no longer sure why.
