Love what they list as their vintage "coffee" color hat body. Exact same vintage hat body used on this Northwest Hat. Extremely lightweight. Opinions on worth the extra money is a personal choice but I will tell you that if you want something reletively hard to find that you won't see others wearing then it certainly is. You can't put a price on that. View attachment 89109
Yes, thank you. That was the one that caught my eye. What colour is your ribbon?

Wlcm BB. My ribbon is Mike's "burgundy" vintage. That coffee tone that the Rooster has looks absolutely incredibly great in their pic but in some other pics I've seen, it appears very "orange..."
Yeh, if I bite it may involve a trip to Milwaukie to view in person...I'll pick up some cheese while I am there. It is a great looking hat. I have one of Mike's hats made from the brown FEPSA felts he has. Love the colour and the felt

I always called it an Alessandria because that's what's printed on the hat. To be honest, I'm not much of a Borsalino guy.
Alessandria is printed on all Borsalino hats ... it is the town that the factory was in

it is actually an extremely common occurrence ... especially with sellers ... they will call any Borsalino hat "Alessandria" because it is printed on all the liners

looks good on you

Yes, I think the Balmoral might be worth searching for. I like the brim.

Stupendous Harv!

I had an itchy finger on that one, as you may well imagine, but the size kept me from clicking.

Scanning through quickly on my phone, I read it as Opplandske Lutefisk. [emoji849]

Spent Monday rotating and brushing hats now that the weather has turned a bit. So that led me to this 50s Resistol WAR I'm wearing today.

Just for the record (Bob) it's cloudy, drizzly and about 60 Fahrenheits in SW Ohio today.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Put this one into regular rotation, it's a looker.

Haven’t posted in a few days due to having my head buried in work (but suitably hatted). Today, 1963 Borsalino.

Nice to see you Christophe. That finish is to die for. Nice Borsalino.

How stressful...

You really know how to relax my friend! Love the Aussie toe warmer.

Quick snap before heading into the office -- 50's Borsalino Alessandria:

The brim on that Borsalino is really showy. Nice, substantial curl.

Chill indeed! Looks great for just sitting around.

temperatures in the 50s ask for this mid 50s Railbird

I love this piece

Now that I see one in captivity, the Railbird is a super hat. Is this the one that was on Ebay a while ago? My dad was a Yankees fan...they say it skips a generation.

no ... I got this from a guy in Colorado on a tip from Bob Hufford ... this guy Al used to work in a store called Ackerman Clothes in the 1950s and his boss would give the employees hats from the shop as gifts

Al told me he wasn't a hat wearer so he would just put them in the closet ... and there they sat until I was tipped off ... he had a bunch of old Stetsons

he also would not ship hats ... so I had a friend who lives in Denver actually go to his house and buy the hat for me and ship it

the thing had never even been creased

go Yanks

Hah! Figures I'd get it wrong. I've never even visited the Borsalino Brotherhood because they just aren't my thing. I can't remember when I picked it up. I bought it because I liked the look not because it was a Borsalino. In the future I'll just refer to it as a Borsalino and try not to embarrass myself by displaying my ignorance.

Gorgeous hat regardless! I like the long hair and the color. You wear it well.

Don't be embarrassed. We all get an education when we start posting around this place. Good looking hat that you wear well.
