The weather is warmer today and I'm outside working on chores. This is the in-between weather where felt hats can be too warm and "straw" hats don't quite seem appropriate. My unlined fur felt Orvis complete with ventilation holes on the sides fits the bill. I'm a big fan of knockabout hats that don't require being gentle. If I was wearing a Fawcett or Gannon while trimming shrubs and mowing the lawn I'd be terrified the whole time.

Agreed, I can't mix really nice hats with chain saws, hedge trimmers and the like. I usually go with my wool Orvis

It's always good to have the right hat for the job.
