Cheddar cheese goes great on ham sandwiches, though.

Sharp cheddar cheese goes great in a bowl of grits with bacon bits....vanilla ice cream goes with apple pie, peach pie, all cobblers. Pecan pie is best all by itself as long as it was made with Karo corn syrup.

Off to the theater for tonight's performance. This Dobbs 5th Avenue stingy does not get enough head time. Fits like a custom, nice felt and a 2" brim and 4 1/2" crown at the pinch. Really a nice hat. It is great to rediscover it for my blacks tonight.

... but put syrup on a grilled cheese and eat it with a fork as you would French toast.

Try it with either Lagavulin, Ardbeg or Laphroaig. There's something about the smokiness of most Islay Whiskys & the rich dark chocolate. It just works very well as a digestif.

I have yet to try a cheeseburger with Krispy Kreme donuts for the bun, but it is on my bucket list. Might end up being the cause of kicking said bucket, but I WILL someday eat one. All that has stopped me so far is the hundreds of miles to the closest Krispy Kreme.

Thanks Jeff. I ended up going with a white panama with the suit. Can't begin to remember how many compliments I got, starting before I even made the festival and ending on my walk back to my car when a young lady at a stop sign rolled down her window and yelled I love your suit. Ha ha.

I think this is a pretty jazzy jazz fest. Here's the lineup, https://summerofthearts.org/festival/2017-iowa-city-jazz-festival/ The Rhythm Future Quartet played some very nice Paris Hot Club gypsy jazz sort of stuff and Orbit opened with a tribute to Yusef Lateef if that gives any flavor. The College stage is always some pretty straight ahead jazz and the so called Youth stage was tonight a mostly gray haired big band doing a mix of jazz standards and Frank Sinatra pop with a male vocalist. I thought it was some pretty tasty fare for the opening night of a three day free concert.
