Beautiful hat Anthony! Sad thing is that it just reminded me that I lost my repro strat pin somewhere at church last Sunday :(

Man, you make me wanna go out and find some Daltons.

You should, but they are rare as hen's teeth.

Love it when you bust out one from your Strat collection, my man!

Love that wine colored jacket. You have that crease just right in the OR. Nice.

We are going to have a mild (mid to high 70s) 4th of July. I might be able to wear my Portis Slant at our annual 4th of July BBQ, totally stoked that it won't be unbearably hot!
Thanks Red. This OR seems to like it's crease as it's been staying put for the last few outings. I like that jacket too. I thought I had misplaced it when I went to look for it this morning, but it eventually turned up. Feel free to let some of the 70 degree weather drift this way, they are saying 85 here for the 4th. It's the 25th annual Jazz Festival here this weekend. Time to start picking out the hats now. Ha ha.

A fantastic hat and blazer! Red is so under appreciated. Is this by chance a vintage Botany 500 blazer?
Thanks Jeremy. I'm a fan of red, and green, and red and green together. Ha ha. The blazer was from Sears Classic Collection with no maker clues. Could certainly have been Daroff.

Thanks all,
Michael

I just found this photo from last year so not one worn today, I can't remember if I posted before and I did not buy it, but it was certainly an experience and a workout on the neck muscles - sampled in Taos, NM. Perhaps I should have bought it and worn as my summer straw...

Just back from a big mall in Guayaquil. Groceries for a week: Gatorade, water, and plantain chips. Lol.

Small kiosk had bunches of straw hats from $50 to $800. I tried on a $200 Montecristi that was lighter than a feather. Very fine straw, but with a touch looser brisa weave. If we weren't headed to Cuenca soon, I would have bought that hat.

The $800 hat was woven so tight you couldn't see light through it. They have a showroom in town I'm dying to visit and look for semi-colados.

I didn't have my phone with me so no pics yet. I won't forget again.

Dammmmmm but that brisa MC was fine!

That beats the €823 Borsalino was asking for a Montechristo Fino and is possibly better quality!

I think it was the Overland Sheepskin company on the outskirts of Taos (my father in law is from Red River and his father was running one of the first gambling joints there at the end of the War - great stories about that and 50's Vegas).

Actually, I should have asked for that or another hat as a couple of minutes after that photo was taken, 2 guys ran in, grabbed over $3000 worth of stuff and made a hot getaway. My wife managed to snap a picture of the getaway car and the Sheriff caught them. The owner was super thankful.

Dang, that's s lot of dough.
I'm 7 1/4

Oh, in that case, the truth is - Dalton's are terrible. They just photograph well. If you see one on the Bay, just steer clear.

They shoulda given you the hat.
And a badge to go with it.

Hey all!
Early Flagship today. Hard to find lighting that showed both form and color, so a few different angles.

Have a great day!

I think many of us could give you a checklist of hats to ask for next time you save that shop from the bad guys =)
