Grilling some yard bird and some veggies with the Balmoral. I have come to enjoy this hat as it is the only straw I have. Feels good on the head and looks good to boot. I am going to keep an eye out of one of those OR hemps some of you have been sporting. Home made peach pies for dessert.

That is a beauty Greg. Great color. Any idea how old it is? I see the tip design is quite a bit different than on mine. I wonder if that was model related or year of manufacture related? Anyway, great looking hat you have there.

Michael

Thanks, Michael. No idea on age but I'd guess the earliest would be late 50's, maybe, but probably the 60's since they were obviously trying to cash in on the OR style. It has a glued in liner and a 3" brim that's stiff enough to make my Stetson 100 seem like a soft felt.

That's a beauty of a Wormser you recently scored. One of the best I've seen. I know it's been asked, and if I missed it I apologize. Did you say where you found that one?

Is it more of a western weight felt? I wouldn't call the brim on mine stiff, but I wouldn't call it floppy either. A lot of snap in it when you bend it. I got mine on the Goodwill auction site. They don't show up very often.

Thanks,
Michael

I wore my bluegrass green Camp Draft yesterday but forgot to post the picture.

I've been playing with the crease on my Gannon lately, mostly varying the side dents to look more interesting:

But sometimes I change the crease up to a deeper, more 1930s style, which I would call a six-point diamond:

I can't decide which I like better, but I guess I don't have to. Michael Gannon makes good hats that can change at one's whim.

I am liking that color more and more lately. Don't have a Akubra, yet.

I agree that Gannons are a super hat. You are having fun massaging that beauty, excellent results!

I did not wear a hat to my business trip to Milan, so making up for it back in cloudy and cooler England by wearing my Borsalino QS.

Nice photo, it shows off the smooth look of that felt.

Love that liner on the Waverly. Is it embroidered? Looking sharp as usual Jim!
