Nive VS Charlie

Love the Stetson Perry

Beautiful VS Orangegrad

I like that jacket and cap Stuffsmith

RobfedoraField: The derby looks fine to me. It works better with a jacket then with a casual shirt IMO. Mix it in a little at a time and maybe she'll get used to it.

Yesterday: Hairy Selentino

Casechopper - since seeing you with the hairy Selentino, I've been keeping my eyes wide open for a hairy fedora in my size.

TJones - glad to see that the Bradford is fitting better.

An early '50s Stetson homburg returned from some R&R at Art's shop. For the life of me, I can't tell what color it is. My wife thinks midnight blue. The ribbon looks black. Or maybe blue. Or maybe the felt is black. Or blue. Depending on the light - it's either blue or black. But it can't be both. Anyone know if Stetson produced a midnight blue felt in the early '50s?

I'll take some photos of it in a day or two - and it will look either blue. Or black.

I vote blue but digital photos over the internet watched via a PC monitor is way less than an ideal color hue viewing.
What does it look like next to a known black hat or something made of black cloth like a tuxedo or a no question about it black dress or purse

Next to my black Akubra it looks like blue/black. And next to my deep navy henley it looks blue. So I'm guessing blue/black. Whatever it is, I like it, because it seems to change color with the lighting.

David - I'm not familiar with Coutney. Vintage? Or custom?

Thanks, Andy. The Courtney is a vintage hat - there is some info in this thread.

Great Wanderer style VS for you this morning. How are you liking the Hommie?

DJH great color of the Courtney too. Good looking hat.

Thanks, DH. This one a quite a recent arrival and I'm very pleased with it.

Nice Courtney and VS to start the day guys.
Stetson for me today.

Thanks, Hatto. The Stetson looks great.

Good morning, Courtney!

Thanks, Charlie - Courtney says "Hi!"

Love your Dove VS

David, very sharp hat today, great dressed with leather jacket!

Thanks so much, Manfred

Sam, two nice hats - I particually like the VS.

DJH, The Courtney is stunning!

Thanks, TJ. I think Courtney had made an effort to look her best today.
Nice to see you enjoying the Bradford.

Knice Knox (actually very nice indeed!) Alan

Looking good, there Jeff!

my "new to me" Fed IV

BsRtuzXIaus7yUoC2xD380FqFw2HHAjgvMKZfw25M0U=w1110-h985-no

ok gents a little of a conundrum. I kept trying to get the perfect indy crease and something just wasn't right, then I realized what it was, the brim has been cut down to 2 1/2" all the way around, not the dimensional cut associated with the Feds, and yes, its a Fed III I believe.

I contacted the seller and he said that is the way it came from Hats Direct and has offered to provide a refund. my question, how important is the dimensional brim? it fits well and is in really good shape for a heritage grade fed III, but because I'm looking for the "indy" hat, I wonder if it will always bother me everytime I put it on, or if it's something I'll learn to love? what would you do in this situation?

Rob, it looks great on you so what the heck?

I'd just enjoy the hat and if you decide you absolutely must have a hat with the Indy specs, have a chat with Mr. Penman or Mr. Garrision at some point.

+1 on both statements. It looks good on you. I wish my Fed IV bow had more character like the one on your Fed III does.

I wouldn't give it a second thought RFF. That's a great hat. Like DJH said, if you really, really want an exact IJ hat, theres plenty of options out there.

Nice Selantino and VS from the weekend CH

T.J. That is a great looking Bradford. In spite of all the stingies you see me sporting, the "open road" style is my favorite.

O.G. It's a nice hat regardless the exact hue.

Alan that is a hat that gets attention because it demands it. Classic!

Jedwbpm great stagecoach (and beard)

DJH great way to kick off the day!
