View attachment 112116 View attachment 112113 View attachment 112114 View attachment 112115 NW Hats road trip today. Here is a teaser, more later in the appropriate threads. My new "Bone Lord's Hat" (sounds ominous). This bone felt color is a trip! Mike says Hi to all of you.

Mike your new Lords Hat is GRAND! So many great features all in one hat. It is really special and I can not wait to see it showcased more on this thread. Congrats. Bone - a very unique hue that I really found easy to wear this past Spring/Summer. The cream color really is sharp.

In any case, congrats again.

I knew I saw it posted here recently, but I couldn't remember who exactly. It fits real well for a 7-1/2, which can be a little large for me sometimes. Maybe a return trip is in order? The owner there is funny. He'll put $30 on a moth-bitten rag of a Stetson, $45 on a mediocre worn out Resistol, but $25 on a nice Dobbs 20 or Knox 15 (they are just WAY too small, like 6-7/8).
How about a 7? Stefan is always looking and that is his size.

Great looking hat. Sorta Granite?
Speaking of which...

A great versatile hat, I'm giving mine another airing today. The rain is persisting down, so with the Stetson titfer (tit for tat: hat) and whistle, (whistle & flute: suit) is an original trenchcoat. Haven't a clue what the rhyming slang is for trenchcoat but any coat is a Billy. (Billy Goat, coat.)

A tad of snow coming down this morning. A Willner's Special derby is entertaining me

I was debating doing some shoveling, but I may leave this stuff to melt on it's own. It sticks to the shovel like it's mixed with super glue. Would make a hellacious snowman though. Maybe I'll just roll the path clean with some big snowballs.

Or maybe I'll challenge the weather and take a walking tour of downtown.

Have a fine weekend,
Michael
Very nice, Michael. I like the elongated shape it has.

Thanks Mike. I'll start packing my hats.

Great looking hat, Stefan.

Thanks Stefan.

That is a "special" hat. Fantastic, old derby! And it handles the elements like a hat should.

The attached is from the Des Moines Register. April 25, 1914.

I love that ribbon on that grey!

That is beautiful. It looks like it just hit the shelves at the store.

YES, D!

You just kill in that thing.

In 1939 Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. In 2018, Huggy Bear Goes to Virginia Beach.

Earlier this week, I expressed how groovy I thought Mike's Cavanagh lord's hat, Huggy Bear, is. I really never imagined that I would dig a hat with a feather band. But I could not dispell the thought it would be a sweet wear along with a certain jacket that I have.

Mike and I later PM'd about perhaps doing a future trade. We didn't settle on anything and I just catalogued the task of looking for some suitable hat to send to Mike in exchange.

Well, last evening I was surprised to find an unexpected package by my front door.

I never really expected to wear the jacket to Mass. But, convention be damned. Huggy Bear demands that it happen this Palm Sunday.

We live in a time when self-centered cruelty, narcissism and indifference to others often seems to rule our culture. Mike, it seems to me that your everyday kindness tips the scales a bit back towards the way things ought to (and can) be.

Thanks, my friend.

Have a kind day, all.

Mike's a very generous person. Nice gesture of him to bestow his Cavanagh chicken upon you. It's an incredible hat.

Today it’s the Wonky Disney Camel Hair again with it’s ever evolving self. I bent down and banged the brim up, so it stays. Made me think of Bob. This is my fun hat as evidenced by the “Double Diamond” crease. Ha
As always, thanks for the recent kind words.
Be well. Bowen
Certainly not a crease you see every day, Bowen. Love the felt on that hat.
