Merry Christmas, all. Hope everyone's day is joyful. A few minutes by the fire in my Portis before I begin to slave in the kitchen. Spicy shrimp and cheesy grits, with grilled asparagus and salad on the menu tonight.

There are so few occasions for wearing a hat like this Dobbs. So I use the holiday to do so.

The "244 & 620 Fifth Avenue, 2 West Fiftieth Street" crest suggests an early 1920s vintage (but what do I know?).

My 1928 Dobbs Homburg has almost the same liner crest, but with 324 as the first address, not 244. The Prof said that '28 was the only year all three of those addresses were active at the same time. I bet yours is close. Looks great.

I did my guestimating based on the crests he has posted. Today was the first time I thought to check it. I had assumed a later vintage because of the hat's great condition. 'Twas a pleasant Christmas surprise.
