Justin I've heard it called by different names over the years but on a curl that size, the most common I've heard is "kettle curl". Usually a 3/4" or so curl. The smaller ones, like the one on my black Stetson and I believe you have one, simply a pencil curl or roll.

agreed. it is no where similar to my kettle finish 3x, or my earlier no.1. this one is just a tad deeper with the curl, but i won't complain
