All I have left of my dad's Navy pea coat are a couple of buttons...the moths got the rest. I have a hat & a dress blouse. He was drafted into WWII in 1943.I still have my Dad's peacoat. He started his stint in the Navy in 1948.

just another 12 lesson Saturday in an OR 25
Your apology is like mother nature apologizing for giving us beautiful sunsets day after day. You have a seriously lovely hat there. My apologies to be so repetitive.
Happy Saturday to all.
After some lengthy, patient and bizarre exercises involving a hat stretcher, containers of water, towels, boxes and a heating pad I think that the 1940s teal Dobbs Game Bird may finally be coming to terms that with all of its original parts it WILL be a 7 1/4 and not a 7.
This one is the brother of the green Dobbs I wore a couple of days ago. I sent some pics of that one in action to the gentleman who sold them to me from his father's estate. It was touching to read how happy he was that the hat his father treasured lives on as a small part of his legacy.
I apologize in advance for the number of shots (probably more suited for the Dobbs thread), but as I often do, I love the way the different light plays on the hat.

Great Michael. I wish you had let me know your size last spring. [emoji6]That is way too cool Matt. Great hat and nice job on expanding it. Though you could have saved yourself the trouble if you had just sent it to me, since I'm a 7.
Michael
Good looking hat.Happy Saturday to all.

Me too! I love that hat on you! The odds of me finding one in my size in teal would be astronomical. So I'll just have to enjoy seeing pics of yours Matt.I love the way the different light plays on the hat.
Looking sharp for drumming some lessons into them. Happy teaching.just another 12 lesson Saturday in an OR 25

Looks great on you, moon and that thing is pristine. It's also one I'm constantly on the hunt for. All the OR clones I have and not a single Stetson.
Happy Saturday to all.
