Buckaroo Hatters Fedora

Today I get to show off my new Buckaroo Hatters fedora by Major Mike Moore. It is Sahara in color and has a vintage brown ribbon. 2 1/2 inch brim, but I am unsure on the crown height. I really love this fedora!!! Plus I could not have worked with a better guy. Thanks, Mike.

I love the hawaiian shirts on this thread. I was stationed in Pearl Harbor for four years and these pictures bring back memories!

Congrats on your new hat, JPMcAdara! It's a beauty. I'd love to see photos from different angles.

To-day I wore my VS thin ribbon:

Nice shirt Jimmy and the hat looks great... but what happened to the ribbon???
:D

When I'm wearing booties, I prefer to go with a ribbonless look... (very funny, carouselvic!) :D lol

Actually, Rusty, the thin leather band that originally came with this lid was glued on and came off. I just never got around to doing anything about it! The lid itself is pretty much my go-to straw, and has held up wonderfully over time. Very serviceable lid.

Michaelshane -- would love to have stopped in for a visit. From the photos of you at work in your shop, I always mentally pictured you as being in New Mexico, somewhere around Santa Fe. Now I know better. ;)

I will simply add that looking straight down at one's feet and seeing nothing but 4,000 feet to the floor of the Grand Canyon is a somewhat disconcerting experience. It took a bit of getting used to before I could really stop and look straight down without feeling like I was about to plummet.

Cheers,
JtL

This one cost me $20.45 + $19.95 S&H. And.... I now have a boatload of cancelled Ecuadorian stamps!

Today I wore my Akubra Capricorn. I didn't like this hat at first, but now I'm liking it more and more. It's getting warmer every day, and the air flows through this hat very nicely.

bakers44 -- you've got a look going that's right out of hat ads from the 30's. Nice lids, great look. :eusa_clap

Thanks! I think that's about the best compliment I've ever received!:D

As soon as I've got some of my other hats in wearable condition, I'll break 'em out. I'm reblocking a couple now, and will most likely get the trimmings sewn on over the weekend. It'll be nice to wear them again; I've been meaning to get the blasted things done for the last month!

I selected the black Whippet today. This one goes well with sterner combinations... this one is mostly grey and black, with just the right amount of red in the bowtie to relieve the general somberness of the outfit.

JTL, ribbon or no ribbon, the pic is great.

Thanks, Torpedo. The funny thing is that I frequently get nice comments about that lid -- even though I haven't bothered to replace the band/ribbon. My theory is that there are lots of folks out there who just appreciate seeing someone wearing a real lid instead of a ball cap...;)

That Whippet looks great.

JtL

I'm surprised at how tall the crown is on the Bailey. Looks Great!

Looking good Carter. I love that Optimo crease and the recurring garden theme!
