How stingy is that, 1 5/8"? Looks really good I think, like that colour too and the lack of tapering to the crown. Nice one.

It has a cousin on here as well. It was posted when I asked if anybody knew what this style & color was.
The photo is it sitting on a hat stand made from a metal rod & a horseshoe that I got from the maker of a custom western that I have. Will get a photo of it later = it's at home...

That would be great - I could even tempt my other half to allow me house room with THAT kind of hat stand, she's crazy about horses... :D

Some say it's better when I put it over my face! lol

Thanks, JM & Kiltie.

Dunno about the age. Here are inner pics. Most of the hat collectors here who have Borsalino roll-ups are surprised that mine has the cloth sweatband. Makes it comfortable and easy to roll but makes it unlike others to which to compare. The felt on this is unimaginably soft, light and pliant.

Any ideas on age of this hat fellow Loungers? The lady wants to know.

My gosh! I have missed about ten pages of GREAT HATS from everyone! There are some real beauties out there and the scenic pics have been great.

We had Italian guests from Tuscany since Wednesday and I haven't had time to be on the Lounge so I have a lot of catch-up reading to do.

Well done, all!!! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

It's cold out here...

I just threw on my Watchman & my extreme weather parka when I went out to pick up some groceries this morning ... that coat is like my portable house because it's so warm & has plenty of storage...lol [huh]

Stetson Royal

One of two Stetsons purchased new within the last two years or so. Not a bad hat, but it doesn't get a lot of air time. I thought I heard it whimpering in it's box today, so I pulled it out. The hatter put a nice "C" in it for me when I got it, and even with the relatively low crown it still has a pretty nice ride.
If this was my only modern Stetson, I'd likely be in the "anti" camp, as over-all the $100 plus I dropped on it was not ultimately a good investment. However, the Sovereign I have gets me just into the "pro" camp.
