What does the Whippet say inside? Is it a Whippet II? I have not seen a Whippet with such a short brim like that. Whippets normally had 2 1/2 to 2 5/8 inch brims on them until the Whippet II came out. Your example is quite a singular example. Good find there. :D :eusa_clap
Sorry.....The hat was a work in progress.

It was given to me by a fellow member. He only wanted it for the liner. It was way too small for him, it was a size 6 3/4 I believe, even way too small for myself. He asked me if I had wanted it it anyway, even without any liner? I was thrilled to have it because, one....I had never seen a whippet with such a stingy brim before either, and two....we all know that I kinda like them a little bit. :D

So I took it, gave it a naptha bath, soaked it and stretched it over my block and flange, let it dry on there. Popped it off, gave it a good old steaming and bash, and viola. [huh]

I just call it my Stingy Whippet, if the correct name for it is actually the Whippet II, then I would love to know for sure. I'm just thrilled to have it.

I am not sure it is a Whippet II because any Whippet II I have come in contact with was hideous. ;) :p Yours is nowhere near that. I wonder if someone trimed the brim back to its current length before it got to you because it looks just like the regular Whippet with just a shorter brim.
You did a nice job cleaning it up. How wide is the brim?

I may well wear my blue fedora today or may the one that Art made for me, my silver-mist Manhattan style fedora, which will look good with the purple and white shirt I have on.

To h*** will all these Iowans and all their silly baseball caps. They remind me of why I left Iowa 39 years ago, swearing never to return. And I wouldn't have, excepting I have a stubborn mother who wouldn't budge from her house (and who hates fedoras).

The Brim is an inch 3/4 and the binding is 3/8".

I don't think is was cut and redone, if it was, it was very well done.

Russ, that's a very good look for you my friend. :eusa_clap
