Thanks, guys. I wear a padded 7 but can usually fit a 6 7/8 no problem. I usually score on hats smaller than that. They tend to be too small for most folks so they don't go for the higher dough that bigger sizes do. Once I get them I can usually stretch them to fit me.

I'm no Borso expert and someone might be able to nail it down more precisely, but the wide sweatband and onionskin liner say pre 1960's.

Carouselvic could tell us within a month or so. My guess is the sweatband appears wide from the camera angle and though it is hard to tell whether the crown protector is paper or vinyl, Borsalino used paper well into the sixties and beyond. I would guess late fifties at the earliest - more likely 1960s. Looks nice, Lauro13.

Steve, you are a master at photographing black velour hats (or is it navy?). Spectacular!

Nice to see you back, GQ.

Alan, Thanks! It's black so photo related. Definitely difficult to photo black Velous especially ones with black ribbons. Your Florentine Borsalino Marque Grand Luxe, cinque X looks fantastic! Always love to see beautiful Velour! :)

Randall, Thanks!

Manfred, The P. & C. Habig Homburg looks super! I have to say that was a well spent 3 Euro! :)

Javier, Your Pilgrim looks great! Also very nice photo backdrop!

Perry, The Tilden from Henry the Hatter is a beauty! Great color (felt / ribbon) and form!

GQM, Super Borso - VS duo! Good to see the weather improved!

MAN you guys are sporting some impressive lidwork today! If I wasn't in the throes of a busy week/weekend of holiday, gigs, concerts, and rehearsals I would comment now. There are a few to which I will need to give ovations.

In the meantime, I am very excited to announce that I can now participate in Fawcett Friday, as of about an hour ago! Quick pics. More in other relevant threads as soon as I am able.

Only just had the chance to see your latest post, Al.

Absolutely fantastic project and nice job by your good self to capture so many moments.

Looks as though the young people were really enjoying themselves - great that they had the opportunity to do this. One or two nice hats to be seen as well.

No picture, but I broke out my Royal Stetson Homburg to wear to work today. It's a beautiful hat I traded a member here for, a deep chocolate brown with dark maroon binding and ribbon.

Nice VS Jeff! I just got the conformer in the mail about an hour ago.

Black Penman custom for me today...this hat actually needs a reflange (although it's not so bad from this angle), so I haven't worn it much as of late. But it seemed sartorially appropriate for this scarf and pea coat. Plus the wonky brim gives it a little raconteurish flavor - in my head anyway.

"Raconteurish"! Now there's a mot you don't encounter very often. Looks good, Jared, especially with the get-up.

Jeff, that lid looks like it was made just for you! Wink. Very nice!
