David, I've seen many Hats, but the Powell is with one of the best looking Hats, I've ever seen here.
I think you enjoy it, and you can be proud of this wonderful Hat. With right!

Perry, your Hats have always a good shape and snap in the brim. Very nice, indeed!

Mike, this is a Hat with personality, a classic, he had seen good and bad times! You wear it very well!

Still in the 50'F temps this morning. Cheers! Morning activities completed while hatted in my 50's Stetson Whippet in chocolate brown.

The roses have started their long summer of continuous blooms. They smell like summer.

Best, Eric -

Don't mean to be back-to-back here with travels, but I just returned from my nephew's wedding on eastern Long Island and self-snapped only one shot in Southampton wearing a hat (my Italian G.M.A with a wire brim that refuses to cooperate).

The best travel shot (I'll spare you the wedding pics) is off the stern of the Port Jeff ferry back to the mainland. I was VERY lucky to have made it considering bumper-to-bumper, stop and go crawl from Montauk (light was in fog) west to where NY 27 finally splits into 4 lanes. I just made the ferry within 10 minutes of sail time, but lucked out as the third car off the boat (that's mine on front-far left), so I picked up some time through Bridgeport and north.

Thx Rodkins. Our Horizons Workshop Director was very complimentary, saying "it was the stuff of which wall murals are made!" And considering he's well published as was his father, I take that seriously.

FYI, I don't feel like I am giving away artistic secrets, so here is a less polished and less abstract version:

What's remarkable to me is that my new camera, (Olympus OM-D) performs so well--virtually NO post-processing on hundreds of shots, including hand-helds @ 300 (600 equiv) and macro settings.

You can see my Montana portfolio (still growing) here.

So many great straws. Wore both my Campdrafts today, but here’s me in the 2 3/16 brim Glen Gray. I figured I shouldn’t waste the Nostalgia’s nice moderately wide ribbon on a beater hat, so I took it off and with a little assist from the hatshaper, stretched it out and sewed it on the Campdraft. I preferred the navy ribbon’s color to black, but black is OK too.

Looking good Dave!

Thanks, Hatto. I don't recall seeing that George's hat before - looks good.

Nice start to the day David and Perry.

Cheers, Mike! The Playboy looks good, even with the Johnny Depp style mod on the crown =)

David, how do you like the Powell? Looks sweet!

Thanks Randall. The Powell is a nice hat, well made and the felt feels good as well. Matt has done a great job in getting this on the market and his new one too!

Thanks, Manfred. The Powell is an excellent hat and Matt has done a fantastic job by offering high quality at a really competitive price.

Eric - very cool shots with the Whippet

Alan - you really do pull off the look of your old Stetsons very well.

BJ - interesting take on the Campdraft, looks good!

Nice ones, Rodkins, BJ!
Perry- today and yesterday were both awesome-- the straw and the cream really bringing in the summer months!
Eric, I really am enjoying those MN summer shots, and the hat looks right at home in the roses. Very nice.
Alan, nice to see you back with your furry companion. Something very artistic about that nutria.
David-- I've been thoroughly mesmerized by your very fine collection, and though I was sad to see a no-Tumwater Tuesday, the Artlite was really fantastic. Does that lightweight felt feel any different when you crease it than a regular weight?

Thanks, Jeff. The ArtLite felt is certainly a different feel to the regular weight Winchester felts. When creasing them, I found I had to use a spray of distilled water to wet the felt and get the crease to stay in place - otherwise out it pops!

It is a shame this type of felt is no longer available here (I think Art has a few left and Mike Moore might have some as well) because it makes for a great hat to wear at this time of year.

Steve - that Huckel is a classic, I love how it looks - both the colours and the shaping. Any idea of the age? In your photo it looks as though you've just left the hatshop with a brand new one!
