Thanks for your note Mr. P... here a short Wikipedia snip on the Kleinhans Company which was a very large store during the era when Buffalo was one of the 10 largest cities in the U.S. The store closed in the early 1990s, but the Saarinen designed home of our philharmonic that the family endowed is still making beautiful music.

Thanks for that link Alan. They must have been a big retailer up there because I have seen several hats here and on e-Bay from them. Keep up the great hats and photos.

Enjoyed a great day at Buckaroo Hatters.
It was fun getting to meet Neo and the shop was really hopping today!
Here is a shot of Alex, Mike and me... all wearing Buckaroo Hatters hats.
Alex is wearing his new lite weight [one Mike made a while back] and I am in my reworked '1912' fedora Mike made for me a few years ago.
All in all a very fine day indeed!
Alex it was great meeting you! Hope you make it back our way soon.

Today at Buckaroo Hatters was a great experience, WELL worth the 10-hour round trip ! I got to meet Mike and everyone behind Buckaroo Hatters and see them work, which was really cool. Mike knew exactly what he was doing, and had me sorted out within an hour, even though I stayed from an hour after opening to just about closing :D. He was very professional and friendly, and he's guaranteed a repeat customer in the future.

Meeting Rusty was great too; we talked about all kinds of stuff (note: a lot of it about hats lol), and he showed me an awesome cafe (best gravy-covered hamburger steak I've ever had!!). I learned a lot today, and had a great time. Thanks, Rusty!

I had come prepared to invest a ton of cash into a custom that I wouldn't see for a couple of months...instead I walked out of Buckaroo Hatters the proud owner of two Buckaroo Hats: an awesome western, and the lightweight in RBH's pic.

Stetson Nostalgia pork pie that I recently added a pinch to. Much better now, I think. The Stetson Outlets didn't have any more, so I broke down and ordered another one from the Fedora Store that I plan to crease with a traditional center dent when it arrives.

I tried a porkpie style the other day, and it just didn’t seem right on me. On the other hand, you Mr. E, don’t have that problem! It just looks great with that little bit of a pinch. :eusa_clap

Neo so glad you and RBH had a great time you lucky dogs. When do we get to see the Western? the fedora looks great too.

Jeff

Oh, the western is something special! I feel I can't do it justice with the iPhone camera, or with the lighting currently available to me. Tomorrow I'm gonna get my mother's professional-grade camera and take some high-quality pictures. I have provided a description of it in the western thread, if you're interested.

Very nice RBH and Neo. :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Neo, I love the lightweight with the clean shaven face, but you better grow your beard back before you post the western. ;)

Thanks, B.J. Hedberg! I think the western fits me well with or without the beard...of course I don't know much about westerns. I can only guess that as good as it looks now, it can only look better as my appearance becomes more gruff.

What was VERY interesting about the lightweight was that it was the ONLY fedora in the dress hat section that fit me...and if fit me perfectly (I'm talking about fit in terms of size and comfort). When he told me it was the lightweight and pure beaver, my face just...well...

:eek:fftopic: Forgive me for the ignorance but being a foreigner may be its cause in this case: why do you spell today, to-day... is that just an stylistic thing?[huh]

I've never given it any thought; I've just always spelled it that way! I'll spell it correctly from now on:)
It was Mark Twain who said: "I don't give a damn for a man that can only spell a word one way."

This was for the 6th January, the Three Wise Men Day, which marks the end of Christmas period. They bring presents, much like Santa Claus. I drew the big guns for the last "Christmas dress-up", including my midnite blue VS... and off we went for the family gathering.

Torpedo, that hat looks very nice on you. It would go well with a blue or even black suit.

Neo: Looking good Hollywood!

Neo, RBH & MM, Fantastic! I am especially drawn to the Buckaroo light weight! Super!

Torpedo, Super combo look as usual. The midnight blue on the VS is a real stand out!
