You always look so sharp and we need more young men in fedoras!
Thanks for putting forth such a classic look.

Well- this kind of thing won me a superlative in the yearbook. I found out today that I was voted, "most individual"

Jake, really nice! oh, how 'bout a pipe? :) I like cigars too.
I have wanted to try a pipe but it seems too expensive to get into compared to cigars. everywhere I go they tell me I need an expensive pipe.....

Mingo hat looks great!:eusa_clap

OT sorry

Indy, you don't need an expensive pipe! sample some nice "English" blends. stay away from aromatics (the sweet smelling) stuff for now. If you like cigars you will like "English" blends.

New Hat

Today I'm wearing a hat I purchased this weekend at one of the local haberdasheries. It is a modern Japanese brand Chinese made hat, made of thick wool felt:

It was purchased for about $29 USD and has a fabric sweatband:

It's actually a tiny bit big on me and I'm not completely happy with the current bash, but I've had little success with trying to hand bash it as it is a little soft despite being fairly thick felt:

It came from the shop with a pheasant feather sewn in, which I removed immediately when I got home. I then replaced it with a mother-of-pearl handmade hat pin I also bought in one of the local shops for about $3 USD.

My newest addition to the collection

Just received my new-to-me Fed Deluxe from Germany via Optimo today!!! I had Graham do a reblock, and he also replaced the ribbon and sweatband. Came out looking pretty sweet, and fits great!

This is going to have to be my last hat until my AB gets here, that's the directive from my account manager (aka: my wife). I think it'll tide me over just fine:D
Regards, Andy

PS: how do I get these pics to show up as actual pictures rather than just links?

Choeki, That stick pin is a perfect accent for your hat ribbon. I'm surprised we haven't seen that done more often. We probasbly will, now! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I actually had the vest in mind when I purchased it, but I was a little apprehensive due to the combination of a black ribbon and white hat (30's mafia connotations and all). It's good to see that I didn't screw up. lol

This is actually the front corner of the staffroom by the door. The pampers are a bit of an in-joke (you may notice there is a pacifier next to it). Basically there are a few students that try to get out of nearly every class during the day by making a run for the nurse for a variety of less than stellar reasons ("my foot is sore," "I have a stomach ache," and "I'm cold" being popular ones). After a few times in one day we start offering the diapers and pacifier to discourage abuse of the system...

Thanks! Actually I can't really claim the generation of the concept though - the tan Japanese trilby hat I showed some posts back in this thread came with a weird stickpin/feather combination hat pin that was affixed the same way. :)
